I was recently told by more than four people in total to start on an AE-1. The camera is a classic, and really gives great results. Simple to use and has enough settings for even the biggest photography enthusiast to be entertained for a lifetime.
I love the bulb setting, and find the camera simple to load and is very robust. it is definitely a camera you can trust with your film in my opinion.
I decided to buy this camera purely on recommendation and do not regret it one bit.

) Bought this black-bodied Canon AE-1 Program (BIN)and was a little disappointed with its condition - enamel worn off quite a lot (as stated) and an odd sole-plate screw (not stated) which I am trying to replace. Quite a rare camera though and I will know how it performs when I get my first film developed at Boots. Perhaps wish I had waited for a more pristine example to come along but I might buy again at the right price!
