Parts of this album really do shine, but it's funny how dated it sounds when compared to the original Can tracks. Sacrilege was produced in the late-1990s, but the original 1970s Can sounds much more modern.
If you are new to Can you are probably going to be better off trying Tago Mago or Ege Bamyasi first. For the hardcore Can fan, it's perfect.
The funny thing is that the damn thing is starting to grow on me, much like the original Can albums. The first time you hear it you think 'what the f**k?' but within a week it's the only thing you listen to. Live with it for a week or so first!
