CTX Optoma EzPro 585 LCD Projector
A relatively cheap projector which uses - most importantly - bulbs that cost under £50. This is not a top spec projector - once that is taken into account it's pretty good. It casts a large image at adequate light levels. Resolution is a tad grainy but the projection strength is enough that you can sit far enough away for this to matter less. It needs a fairly large room, good darkness, a separate sound system loud enough to bury the projector noise, and a bright white screening area - with those taken care of I've found it an enjoyable dvd projector, and I'll be sticking with it for a while. It has svideo input but not a scart. I haven't tried it on A PC yet, but it has a serial input, and other user reports say it's even better off a PC. It's not very portable though. Also on the downside it's fairly large and clunky looking with its pop-up lens system, it's also moderately noisy and inclined to attract dust within the lens array.
