It's a funny film, light hearted and has an attractive cast.
Quite a good gay film.
As a lesbian film it does score quite highly, as it doesn't try to be serious they just accept that the film is a bit tacky and have fun with it.

I saw But I'm a Cheerleader a while ago and instantly fell in love with it. The story is based around a teenage girl who everyone suspects is a lesbian. Her parents decide to ship her off to True Directions, a homosexual rehabilitation camp. This film is laugh out loud funny, and although it is not the most brilliantly produced film in the world, it manages to satisfy from start to finish. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice, easy-going lesbian comedy, or for any fans of Clea Duvall.

A must have for gay guys and girls,very funny film but also gives out an important message youl have to watch it to know that message.

A light hearted, over dramatic lesbian rom-com about a girl whose parents and friends send her to a summer camp to have the gay bashed out of her! She is in denial and doesnt think she is gay. she meets and falls in love with another girl at the came (clea duvall) and they live hapily every after! the end!

I love how charismatic the movie is. it keeps you interested and pulls you inside the story. There is a great sense of laughter and comedy with this film as well. It is a definite must-buy dvd.

I thought it was a great price. Fantastic quality, fast shipping. I would definately buy from again.

I love to watch new movies, sometimes I get pleasantly surprised, but this dvd had me switching off after 25 minutes. Boring lesbian 'rom-com', no laughs and no fun.

an incredible film with plenty of gay interest, a young ordinary girl from america has everything, a boyfriend, good grades, a perfect family, friends, popularity and she is a cheerleader, but many little hints suggest to her friends and family that there is a sexuality hidden underneath this perfect life.

she is taken to a Gay camp, where she is forced to participate in activities to re gain her former straight self!


this is a hilarious comedy, with lots of funny and even serious twists, definately worth buying, one to keep forever.

I decided to buy this as it looked good and I am interested in cheerleading. However it is nothing to do with cheerleading, and it all the homosexuality was uncalled for. I turned it off half way through.

This is the cult movie of the 21st century, the cast is incredible its a must see, that moves you through the paces answering and questioning all the things that teenagers ask when they come of age.

This film is really enjoyable, really tongue in cheek humour, with the girl from American Pie playing the lead, the love story isn' too soppy and watching the antics of the members of the program is so funny! Not just gay interest, all my fiends love it too! A must see film!

well ofcourse u must support homo sexuality to enjoy this film nice simple romantic film but its about a formation of love between 2 girls

Having enjoyed the movie, I was impressed by how poignant and insightful the story line accurately portrayed the Fundamentalists in their misguided belief that human sexual identity can be "re-tooled" and forced on people, especially our youth, because "they" believe that their god deems it as wrong. Actually, I was bothered by how judgmental, accusatory and condescending some parents were as they "dis-owned" and gave-up on their children because of their children's gender issues.

Megan's rude awakening comes when her friends and family decide to do an intervention and send her to a heterosexual conversion camp. She protests vehemently, but everyone offers up the evidence. She's a vegetarian, she hates kissing her boyfriend, her locker is filled with photos of women in swimsuits and she has a Melissa Etheridge poster over her bed. She has to be gay, to which Megan, of course responds -- let's say it all together now -- "But I'm A Cheerleader."

Megan is escorted to her life-changing experience by counselor Mike (Ru Paul in a decidedly inspired out-of-drag turn). The camp is a quaint -- or is it terrifying -- pink Victorian house/compound where young men and women confess their sins like guests at Homosexuals Anonymous. Supervising everything is the quintessential 50's woman Mary Brown (Cathy Moriarty), who is almost religiously devoted to her job, even as she's blind to her own pin-up perfect son rock's (Eddie Cibrian) own homosexual tendencies.

Funny and filled with lots of hidden messages But I'm A Cheerleader will entertain you and make you think at the same time.
