I wanted a radio to brighten up the quiet times at work but an ordinary one was no good,I kept getting static and the stations would tune in and out.I had heard good reviews of a digital radio so I bought one on eBay,it was in brand new condition and was nearly half the price of one currently selling in a catalogue. It has a really good signal and a top range of stations. It's modern looking with nice, comfortable earphones.I would recommend using rechargable batteries though as normal batteries drain really quickly.A great, reliable digital radio.

A nice little product, but be aware of a few things....

Well built, nice clear display and easy to use. However, you must use the headphones which come with the radio. These are good quality, but may not be a good fit for everybody. Also, don't bother with this if you intend to use it on a Virgin train - the signal disappears the moment you board! Otherwise, the sound quality is excellent and searching and storing stations is a doddle. Well worth the price if you fancy dabbling with the DAB format.

A great little digital radio. Reception in my area was perfect, but then I do live only 14 miles from the Crystal Palace transmitter. Sound quality was good. This is an ideal portable radio for the elderly who just want to listen to the same radio station and don't want complex controls. Once set to a station it will power up to that station every time. No fuss with tuning. No hiss or static. Station name clearly displayed. It detects a wide range of stations and has 10 presets. A complete steal if you can pick one up for around £20 or less.

Well made and very handy. Downside it doesnt have a rechargable battery. Itdoes tend to loose a bit on reception but its great value for money. A set of batteries last around 10/12 hours.

This item was purchased for an elderly lady who is somewhat confused at times. mle Once the item was programmed she found the simple and clear controls easy to understand. The clarity of sound is excellent.

I am close to being a technophobe, but even I can use this device with ease. The sound is excellent. The item is quite light and neatly fits into a shirt pocket.

crystal clear sound, lots of radio stations

this DAB radio has an elegant design, and it's also very light weight, it is small enough to be in your pocket.
this radio can scan all the DAB stations automatically and store the information in it, so you don't need to scan again. you can select different radio stations by push the button in the middle, it will show the name of the stations one by one. the sound is crystal clear, better than mp3 audio. it also has power saving function, if you active the power saving function, after a few minutes the radio will turn off automatically. this radio also displays the clock, which is very accuracy. you can take it with you and listen to the music stations, or listen to the latest news, nice entertainment.
it needs two AA battery to work. I have some rechargeable 2500mA AA batteries, only works for a few hours(maybe not more than ten hours). be careful with the environment.

  DAB is FAB

£15 - thats all I paid for this, so I can mainly listen to the football if I am away from home. The reception is great, sound very good and appears to be fine. The lock feature stops the radio settings being changed while in your pocket. I am very pleased with my little radio. Buy it with confidence. Its worth noting in some other reviews that 1) - Good reception is only going to be where there is a DAB transmitter - check the DAB webiste to make sure your area is covered before buying. 2) The volume is not too loud, it is adjustable and on the lowest setting is more than comfortable.

  Great Introduction to DAB
Review created: 29/09/09

Having now had this radio for over 1 year, I have to say that I have been pleased with the purchase.

Reception has been no problem for me around the Thames Valley, but like all thinks digital it has to be all or nothing. Where the signal is a little weak, the reception does break up.

Battery life has been reported as an issue in other reviews, and I was concerned about this. Maybe because my expectations were so low, I have been pleasantly surprised. It is rather worying that a new set of 2700Ah rechargable batteries shows less than full power very soon after inserting them and turning the radio on, but the power then seems to carry on for several hours, to the extent that I have never actually bothered to time it.

One thing that I would recommend - get a decent set of headphones. Although the radio comes with a warning that you should only use the supplied headphones, I have used a nmber of others with no reception problems and much improved sound.

Happy listening in the digital age!

The radio is a perfectly acceptable portable DAB radio. The headphones could be better but a better set can be purchased realtively cheaply. The size and weight is ok but with all things of this nature they can always be lighter.

This Bush Dab radio is really easy to use, you can store upto ten presets but finding other stations is really easy also. The only negative is the earphones are little uncomfortable and cant be swopped as the aerial is integral.

  Disappointing
Review created: 06/01/09

I am not happy with this radio as it doesn't always connect to the station you want & is only any good to listen to through headphones which also act as an aerial, I have tried connecting external speakers but then it wont find any stations at all, altogether poor for the price & very disappointing.

I really liked the look of the radio. And found it to be very straight forward to use. On the downside, i found that batteries seem to be devoured by it.

  Very Good, But Too Loud
Review created: 17/08/08
by:
0 of 1 people found this review helpful.

The lowest volume setting is too loud for most people. I had to buy some
mx660 earphones - with volume control (£10 inc. p & p on eBay). Add ibuds
to these, if you want to hear some bass. Very good sound quality & signal
strength. Quite large & heavy, compared to an mp3 player, but o.k. Ease of
use - good.

Dissappointed with the earset and also with the reception of the radio. I had bought the MP3 dab mainly to listen to the radio while on the move. I can't do that.
