Broken Flowers (DVD)

excellent film, bill murray at his dead pan best. Its a slow burner but Murray is the stand out star as usual.

An ageing Don Juan (Bill Murray) is rocked to his socks when he receives an anonymous letter from one of his many seduced ladies saying that he has a son who is eager to meet him. The laid-back lover sets off on a journey to visit his former lady-loves to find out, if he can, who wrote the letter. Murray, in typical blank-faced mode, is so relaxed he is almost horizontal. But the film does have some choice bits of comedy. Co-stars include Sharon Stone,Jessica Lange, Tilda Swinton and Julie Delpy.

This was a brilliant film. Kept me interseted all the way to the end.
Bill Murray at his very best.So funny!

Bill Murray is typically excellent in this top-notch film from director Jim Jarmusch. Murray is persuaded by his friend to go on a road-trip to find out which of his old lovers wrote him a letter about a son he never knew he had. Nothing is clearly resolved and it's all very low-key, which adds to the effectiveness of the film. Bill Murrary is in pretty much every scene of the film, with the rest of the impressive cast mostly appearing in small but important roles. There's also a typically good soundtrack as you'd expext from a Jim Jarmusch film. I had wanted to see this film for several years now, and finally got the chance when I won an ebay auction for a DVD of it at a bargain price. I feel that the film was worth the wait, and it is a nice addition to my ever growing DVD collection. Broken Flowers is an off-beat film that won't be to everyone's liking, but if you want to see something different that doesn't insult your intelligence give it a look.

I collect allmovies with Bill Murray who is my favourite actor. The movie is fantastic and exciting, and yet not plastic in a Holywood way. Very good cinema.

I had seen some previews and thought it looked like an excellent film. I went out to buy it and was exited when it arrived. When we started watching it my wife remarked how slow it was and pointless...I off course having seen the preview said it would pick up and get more involving. How wrong was I!! I thought the preview didn't give away the end of the film or key plots in it, turns out there was nothing to give away, no key plots and my wife was right!!! The film tried to hard to be clever and stopped being entertaining.

Interesting film not to everyones taste
its quite a dry film which i found funny a must for bill murry fans

I thought this particular dvd was very booring,Bill Murry never cracked his face once throughout the whole film, very slooooooow.
