When Helen Fielding wrote her novel on Bridget Jones she was encapturing the thoughts and life-style of every 'Average' woman in the world. Bridget is not the size 10 super-model that almost every red-blooded male drools over in their glossy mags, she is bog-standard woman of this world with thoughts and feelings that tear her in several different directions.
The Edge of Reason is the sequel to 'Bridget Jones's Diary' and portrays Bidget(Renée Zellweger) as the 'Average' woman who has two good looking men (Colin Firth & Hugh Grant) fighting for her affections, One who wants to Marry her and the other who is Just out for Uncomplicated Lust !
On top of this complication for her she is pesuing a Career in Television and trying keep her friends happy as well. The entire film comprises of Comedy, Romance and drama in one package.
The 3 DVD box set of Edge of Reason is highly recommended for it features 'The Missing Bits' and one or two other surprises.
I have rated this film as five stars because i am biased (I was involved in the making of the film) But don't take my word - Buy a copy off ebay and write your own review - You WILL be pleasantly surprised, i am sure of it.
Mike.
