One of the best films I've seen. The film follows the life and death of Scotland's hero William Wallce. Packed with lots of bloody fights and battles. Even though there are slight innaccurate sub plots to the story the film has an ending that makes girls cry and guys ashamed to be English.

Having had this movie on vhs for quite some time,i was very pleased to find it on ebay for a realy good price.One of Mel Gibsons best acting performances to date.Iam in the process of replacing my entire collection of video tapes ,and have so far been pleasantly surprised with how easy it has been to do this on ebay,and so will continue to this in future. Bought it to replace my video of the same name as it wasn't working properly. This is my favourite Scottish film even though it doesn't quite tell the real story of William Wallace. The film is all about freedom. The acting by every character is outstanding but tends to be a bit violent at times. I like the romantic story within it and the desire for vengeance.

I had already seen Braveheart quite a few times at the cinema, on flights, in hotel rooms etc over the years but decided to own my own DVD copy so I can watch it whenever I feel like it because its one of those movies I can watch over and over again.
It has a great storyline, lots of battle scenes, rampaging scots (and I'm english!!), double crosses galore, superb scenery, realistic costumes and a beautiful princess (Sophie Marceau). So what if it's not historically accurate? It's a fantastic movie, won a deserved bagful of Oscars and is Mel Gibson's finest hour.

Braveheart sees Mel Gibson playing William Wallace. A character who tries to give Scotland its freedom from England, and the corrupt King.
However, the greed of the Scottish land lords is his undoing.
A long film, but absolutely astounding in the way it is filmed/made.

This film is a must-see classic.Although it does not tell the factual story of Sir William Wallace,it is nonetheless,a very moving,action packed film.

The message the film gives is not only about brave men fighting wars of independance for their country,it is about freedom.Personal freedom that we enjoy today because of men in the past like William Wallace who believed that everyone should live a free life.

That is why i love the film.Secondly,i'm scottish and he is a scottish legend and hero.We get to see our country victorius over our 'auld enemy'England.

The film itself is truly a masterpiece.The scenery is stunning.The battles are gory and well set.There is also,for the women,a love story between a man and a woman,so its also romantic.Romance,patriotic,humourous,grisly-BRAVEHEART-has it all.Fabulous!

I bought this because I loved it from the moment I first saw this film, I just wanted it in my collection.
It has something for everyone - romance, action, drama and amazing acting that will fully emerse you in the 14th century world of sir william wallace.
Mel Gibson is supurb as the main protagonist whose passion and determination never fail, even in the face of death. Mel Gibson also served magnificantly as the films' director, steering the film into a portrayal of the events of the first war of scottish independance that creates a new world that can be relived again and again.
The film won five academy awards at the 68th academy awards in 1996, including best director, best effects, best makeup, best cinematography and best picture, all of which and more this film deserved to win.
This film has no real competition in the world of motion pictures - even thirteen years after the film was released, the only films that come into the league of a film such as braveheart are the likes of Apollo 13 (1996) and Titanic (1997). Without a doubt this is a film to buy and watch again and again. 10/10 - 5* - a great film that still reigns supreme 13 years from it's premiere. I would recommend this to anyone who qualifies the 15 age rating.

We first saw this movie in Hamilton, Lanarkshire, and it was very good. Now I've bought the DVD, and I don't think it has the same punch as the big screen,
still I like it. There are a lot of fine actors and actresses in it telling a cracking old story.

I bought this film because I'd seen it on TV and loved the story. I'm a huge Mel fan which did sway me slightly but it is an excellent portrayal of the William Wallace story. Lots of gore and action, spurred on by Wallace's lost love. Intrigue, passion and betrayal, pretty wicked!

hi , this is a excellent movie , tells a great story about scottish history in the 13th century . the battles scotland had with england and william wallaces revenge for killing his wife . this movie has passion , betrayal and courage.

I have lost count of how many times I have seen this film, I never get bored of it!

There are parts of this film that make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and the music which accompanies the film is just so effective and perfect in every scene.

Yes there are parts which are not true to the history but..they are not trying to get it exactly right. It is BASED on a true story.

What more can you ask for in a film? It has romance, violence, passion, twists. This film has an effect on me everytime I watch it, to think that a lot of this actually happened and the battles that these men fought and died in.

It is definately a film that everyone should watch at least once in your lifetime.

This was actually a requested birthday present, however it is a film that I love. It has action, heroism, romance and although William Wallace does die in the end it is nice to see the tyrant getting his just desserts.

I've watched this AMAZING movie a number of times but it came to the time where I had to have my very own copy even though I've had video copies. There is nothing not to like about this film. It literally has everything. It has laughter, tears, blood, guts, romance and of course any film that gets it right up the English has to be winner!
Unfortunately the accuracy of the history leaves a lot to be desired but since when was that a problem.
If you like seeing he underdog get one or two over the big boys then this is for you..... If you love all things Scottish the THIS IS DEFINITELY FOR YOU !!
