Description
Five episodes of the now-classic series, which portrays the bleak atmosphere of Liverpool in the 80's are contained in this program. Jobs for the Boys: Chrissie assembling of an unofficial building gang leads to a tragic raid by the fraud squad. Moonlighter: Former foreman Dixie, is working illicitly on the docks when he uncovers shady dealings he'd rather not be privy to. Shop Thy Neighbor: Chrissie's dole money is cut off after his moonlighting is discovered. He then must deal with his wife, Angie. Yosser's Story: Yosser dreams are dashed as he manicly searches for work while trying to avoid eviction and hold onto his three kids. George's Last Ride: Chrissie uncovers a secret about George after George passes away.

I've been after this for some time. I was living in Liverpool throughout the time that this series was made and shown on TV. It shows a very black and grim side to working (or none working)life in Liverpool. I wanted it so I could remind myself of what life was like then before computers, mobile phones and holidays oversea's.It shows the very worst of life then, but pulls it back round with humour. The collection is perfect and top quality. And as an added bonus has the original pilot film in with the collection.

THE REASON I BOUGHT THE DVD IS BECAUSE I AM UPDATING MY COLLECTION. VERY GOOD STORY LINE. VERY GOOD ILLUSTRATIONS. GOOD ACTING. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO WATCH AT LEAST ONCE. WILL PROBABLY WATCH MORE THAN ONCE. MORE FILMS LIKE IT SHOULD BE MADE. WELL WORTH THE MONEY.
