Boston Legal - Series 1 - Complete (DVD)

This is one of the best comedy dramas that is available on DVD at the moment and the acting from both James Spader & William Shatner is superb add to that the excellent supporting cast and you have a great excuse not to go out during the cold nights or days.

I decided to purchase this boxset because I am a big fan of legal drama's and after hearing so much about this show I had to check it out, so if you liked the practice also written by david e kelley or even damages with glen close then Boston Legal is a must see.

I have wanted to watch this programme for a long time. I started watching the last series without seeing the other 7 (it think) series. Now I'm hooked and just have to see it all from the very beginning. I have already bought, from ebay, the first season and am half way through it. I am now trying to buy series 2. Wonderful stuff.

Brilliantly funny show. The combination of James Spader and William Shatner makes for one of the most hilarious and entertaining shows around.

I missed this on TV, so thought I'd give it a go on DVD. And it's as good as you'd expect from something written by David E. Kelley - funny, poignant, surreal, and in places completely unbelievable! Wait till you find yourself having sympathy for a man who killed his mother!

Some of the characters are underdrawn - often the way with an ensemble piece. But it's become a compulsory daily treat for me and my husband. As William Shatner would say, "Denny Crane!"

As Terry Wogan states on Radio 2, Boston Legal is quite simply the best and funniest legal drama that has ever been. It has subtle wit and banter and above all a realistic if sometime averse view on the american legal system. Worth watching anytime.

Great storylines, ongoing storylines throughout series - the raport between james Spader & William Shatner is fantastic.

Some great stars in not so familiar roles - I don't like law & order as it is too dry - this has it all - great charaters, great stories, great drama, great comedy.

I got into Boston Legal towards the end of Series 1, and didn't start watching EVERY episode until about Series three so I had a lot of catching up to do!

If you're reading this, it's probably because you know how witty, clever and off the wall Boston Legal is already. Very similar in idea to Ally McBeal, but a lot more accessible to men as well as women.

The pilot episode was on this dvd which was really interesting to see where it all started. There are a lot of characters that are not in it currently, and it's fascinating to see how they start to hone the idea of 'Boston Legal' and really develop the characters, getting rid of those that just weren't adding anything along the way.

I've not yet seen the special features, but if they're as good as the episodes, I'm in for a real treat!

Definitely worth buying and watching over and over again for any Boston Legal fans...or potentials!!!!

Probably the funniest, wittiest court room drama you will ever watch. Shatner and Spader are a perfect team and deliver some very funny and extremely memorable lines and scenes.

A definate must watch Series. Once you have seen Season one, you will want the next season.

Boston Legal is rude, sexy, emotive, moving and extremely funny.

Excellent value for money, as you get 5 discs each with 4 or 5 episodes on, so, many evenings of entertainment.

I saw one episode on cable at my friend's house and was addicted. When I saw the DVD set up for sale at such a bargain price on ebay I had to bid. I was chuffed to bits when the DVD arrived and devoured the six DVD set in a week.

Witty, sexy, funny and stylish. James Spader is lascivious and impressive, William Shatner is a revelation, funny, a truly sympathetic character, and utterly reprehensible. Look out also for Candice Bergen, she gets the sharpest retorts in the whole series and her spats with Spader and Shatner are awesome.

The way tv should be, grown up, intelligent and fun.

I bought this as I've just recently started watching Boston Legat on SKY, I have missed series 1 & 2, and because I think its a very good series, and very funny I thought that I would like to see all episodes made.
This was a great purchase, and series 1 is very funny, buying series 2 now. and watching series 3 on SKY, but will probably buy series 3 when it comes out on dvd

This is the best legal drama/comedy to come out of ther USA since LA Law and it beats the rather poor current British efforts by a long mile. The combination of inspired casting and cracking scripts leave you gasping for more. Bill Shatner (Denny Crane) as the right-wing-of-attillah-the hun-with-senior-moments-attorney-with-some-magic-still sparks off the perfect Candice Bergen (Shirley Schmidt) with James Spader (Alan Shaw) keeping you guessing as to whether he is fundamentally good or fatally flawed. Spader's court room speeches are fun. Buy this, enjoy and buy season 2. Can't wait until season 3 is released on DVD.

I must admit it took me a while to get into this series but it was worth hanging on in there. The writing is clever and well-informed and is obviously used as a soapbox for some key political issues by the writers. The acting is superb throughout and it's good, solid, thought-provoking enertainment at its best.

I'd heard good things about this series so I bought the DVDs...and it is fabulous. James Spader plays a brilliant lawyer who is completely loopy and William Shatner plays a once brilliant lawyer who is going senile. Individually they are hilarious and when they get together it's comedy magic.

But there's also a serious side as the lawyers battle for the rights (and sometimes the wrongs) of their clients.

This is far better than other courtroom offerings and I highly recommend it.

Boston Legal is a breath of fresh air!

The second series is just as good!
