Bose QuietComfort® 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® Consumer Headphones

Cream of the crop when it comes to active noise reducing headphones. Bose has a reputation for producing high quality kit and these QC3s will, I promise, not let you down. I have researched so called noise cancelling headphones and whilst there is no such thing as noise "cancelling', these come closest in reducing ambient clutter to a minimum, even when sat over the wing of a jet! In fact, they are as effective as their slightly cheaper and larger "around ear" big brother, the QC2 in reducing extraneous clutter. They are much more comfortable than most of their larger competitors but at least as effective at doing their job. Gripes? There are one or two minor issues. Bose tends to slightly accentuate bass notes and upper frequencies are minimally diminished, but many of you may find this pleasant although the purists may half object! It would have been nice to have the facility to use AAA batteries, but at least Bose supply two Lion batteries. They claim 25 hours per battery (yes they supply two), but a solid 20 hours is realistic. I would have liked the facility to use them in passive mode when then power ran out, but they are on or off, a small niggle, as if you're paying this kind of money for headphones, you'll want to use the technology. There's nothing else, they're beautifully presented and "sexy", and the "gripes" don't even justify the loss of a full star in the rating, although in truth, I would have docked half a star if I could.
SUMMARY.
Excellent kit, not cheap, but you get what you pay for. This adage was never more true here!

Packaged for the traveller, Excellent sound, comfortable fit, works great with iPOD, has adapters for in flight entertainment plug-in. And best of all noise cancelling - on an airplane the roar of the engines and the crying of babies disappears. Even if you have the music off - the noise cancelling works.

They are not inexpensive, but in my case / well worth it.

I have read a lot of nonsense on the internet from 'audiophiles' slating Bose products. Well I have tried top grade Grado headphones and high end Shure ear canal buds and can honestly say they don't even come near the great sound from Bose. Highly recommended.

An amazing piece of kit for those that appreciate quality. The noise cancelling circuitry is superb. Put these on and you are truly lost in the music.Words really cannot capture the true impact wearing these headphones can bring to the listening experience.My recommendation is to audition these with a familiar pece of music and be prepared to be knocked out.

I love these headphones and am looking forward to using them on an upcoming long haul flight. The sound is crystal clear and raises the enjoyment of my music.

I have used them with the pc as well as my ipod and the sound is remarkable. They are lightweight and comfortable on my ears although I sometimes have to remove my earrings and wearing my specs is less comfortable. But that is just me getting old - nothing to do with the headphones!

I have lent them to my daughter who was using them on a flight to Malawi so will see how she found them on the flight. She better bring them back!

The Bose QuietComfort® 3 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® Consumer Headphones has done it again. excellent quality. smaller then the bose quietcomfort 1 and 2. but still superb sound and noise cancelling preformance.
