Great characterisation, lacks some of the quirkiness of the first series. Introduces some interesting new characters. Bigger budget shows against first series. Pity there are no extras.

I stumbled across my partner's DVD of The Book Group - Series 1 and was left wanting more! Sadly only two series were made and perhaps consequently the second series feels a little rushed with many open ended questions for the viewer to ponder upon but perhaps that's what makes intelligent comedy drama! The characters are well rounded and the wonderful Michelle Gomez (Green Wing) steals the show.
