The Blues Brothers (DVD 2003)

The Blues Brothers movie is one of the greatest movies of all time and a must for all movie collections. I have this movie on vhs but had to have my own copy on dvd. The movie is a great action but also comedy and is a fantastic watch for all the family. It's one film that all generations of the family will watch and love, they just dont make movies like this anymore.

absolute classic. been a favourite for years and only just decided to get it on DVD. has to be the best car chase of all time!!

A classic film and a must have for any dvd collection-great family entertainment. All the family love this film it's a great musical with a difference- very exiting and full of comedy. It is john belushi and dan ackroyd at there very best.

its easy watching but a good all rounder, my boyfriend and i have very conflicting movie tastes but we both like this!

Having watched it for the first time on VCR, I thought that it was time to buy it on DVD. So I searched on eBay for it, and bought it for an extremely reasonable price, bearing in mind that I could not find it in the shops near me. Received it, opened it, watched it, loved it!!! Not knowingly that there were extra sequences that were cut out of the original 1980 movie. From the lengthened introduction where Jake Blues, (John Belushi) leaves prison after 3/5 years for “good behavior”, and meets his brother Elwood (Dan Aykroyd), to the epic 106 mile car chase from the Palace Hotel, to the J. Daley Plaza “where they got that Picasso”.
Dan Aykroyd (SNL, Trading Places), makes his appearance as driving superstar Elwood. The awesome Dodge Monaco 74 makes its’ memorable appearance as the infamous Bluesmobile – the much loved car that loyally transports Jake and Elwood to their gigs, and out of trouble, before literally falling apart near the end of the film.

Complete with bonus features, including how they made the film, and the extra few minutes that were cut out, the Blues Brothers is a must see film!

The Blues Brothers is a timeless classic, a must have DVD. However I was disappointed with the quality as the film plays perfectly until the songs are performed, there are no lyrics only the music is audible.

this is one of my all time favourite films.

it doesn`t matter what life`s thrown at you, watch this and you`ll forget
all about it for a while.
i`m a big blues and soul fan and so many stars are there and its also very
very funny but you don`t need to be a big fan of the genre.
don`t take my word for it, buy beg or borrow a copy and see for yourself!!

I'd love to review this DVD but I have never received it from the seller, despite paying for it minutes after winning it.

Some things in life get you down, bad weather, bills, family problems etc.,
When I'm feeling a bit down this movie really does it for me its just so funny.
Numerous cameo appearances add to the fun and if you don't laugh at this one I don't know what would.

Oh! by the way I'm not in my teens, I'm about to retire.

i bought it as a pressie for my son he loves the dvd and how fast the delivery was had a few bad experiences bying from ebay sellers

ive got it sussed now -- order the item then if they demand payment you know they have the goods advertised if they do not then dont part with money
but i can honestly say that the seller of the blues brothers dvd i purchased was very fast and honest

Everybody has heard of the Blues Brothers. They are a phenomena. With more tribute acts than you can shake a tailfeather at, all it takes is two black pork pie hat's, two pairs of shades and a mate and you're there. All that naffness aside then this film is the reason all of that exists and you kind of forget that underneath the whole 'cult of the Blues Brothers' that has been spawned over the years is a very very funny and accomplished movie. The Blues Brothers is a great watch and very ambitious for its time in terms of stunts and action; this was filmed in the days before CGI and computer generated effects so when something explodes or crashes into someting else there is a real 'one take' rawness to it all. This, and 'National Lampoons Animal House', are a worthy legacy for the late Jon Belushi and an absolute must watch for anyone who has never seen it, or has not watched it for a long time. Solid acting, solid story, solid soundtrack, solid comedy.

I have loved the Blues Brothers since seeing a tribute act at Universal Studios in Orlando whilst on holiday there. The music is really fun and happy and just makes u want to dance!! After seeing them i had to buy the movie and i was not disappointed. Very happy with purchase. The film has everything...action, comedy, music and some really good cameos including Ray Charles, James Brown and my favourite scene includes Aretha Franklin. Very good car chase at the end too for the people who are into that!! Brilliant film! :)

One of the truly great movies of all time!If you don't have a copy in your collection you are really missing out - great music and laugh out loud moments!

After watching this several times with my children when they were young I coould not resist buying it for myself. It is a very funny film that is appealing to all ages. My present husband now has to watch it again otherwise he cannot join in with the many quotes that are delivered at family get togethers!!

A bit on the long side but with plenty of famous cameos in it and lots of good music. Actually has a story line but the car chasers are worth watching. It never dates either.

This is an excellent DVD ad if you ever get the chance to see this on stage please do so because it is excellent to watch
