Another Attenborough Success

This is an 8 episode nature series which as the name of it suggests focuses on the seas and oceans that account for 2/3 of the planets surface.
The photography displayed in this series is simply stunning and with the great David Attenborough taking care of the narration there are similar standards set. Each episode concentrates on a different aspect of the oceans habitats from the arctic to the tropics and from the surface of the oceans to the dark depths that lie below. Personally my favourite episode looks at the dep ocean habitats, the colours and design of the creatures found there are simply stunning and in some cases the first time they have been seen on film.
If I have one criticism it is that if you sit down and view multiple episodes at once then you may notice some repetition from one episode to another with certain scenes being covered twice.
The last 2 discs of the 4 disc set include documentaries and making ofs which are well worth viewing not simply making up the minutes on the DVD special features.
All in all definately worth buying. Well done BBC, this is why we pay our license fees.
