Now I was an avid Angel fan, and once that program ended, there was no vampire to be seen that could capture my heart like the brooding anti-hero. Then came along blood ties......

A hardass PI with failing sight happens upon a murder with supernatural consequences and ends up being partner to Henry, your charming loveable blood sucker. The two team up to solve the cities never-ending stream of monsters and things that go bump in the night (and i'm not just talking about the love triangle with said vampire and a certain Detective.) The series was excellent with a really good climax at the end leaving you wanting for a bite more.

Blood Ties follows the adventures of Vicki Nelson a feisty, attractive, 29-year old ex-cop turned private investigator, who seems destined to sit on the sidelines until fate intervenes, turning her life upside down. After witnessing a terrifying murder, she finds herself on a collision course with a stranger who is also investigating the case. He is Henry Fitzroy a 450-year old vampire who just happens to be the b@stard son of King Henry VIII. After solving the murder, Vicki finds her forays into supernatural crime are anything but over. Week after week, Vicki's relationship with Henry draws her into baffling cases involving a terrifying pantheon of occult adversaries. Forget fraud investigations and cheating spouses - she's squaring off against ghosts, goblins and ghouls. Vicki and Henry's unlikely alliance soon progresses beyond a purely professional arrangement, complicating her relationship with her long-suffering ex-partner in policing and love, Detective Mike Celluci and pretty well everything else in her life.

If you love the show try the books by Tanya Huff, they're even better!!!

After a shaky start the series settled down to a very good watch, with the characters filling out their roles nicely. Not as teeny as Buffy or Midnight and all the better for it. Hope they do another series as it was left on a real cliffhanger....

WHATS NOT TO LIKE ABOUT THIS SERIES I MEAN VAMPIRES DEMONS AND COPS ITS GREAT ENTERTAINMENT. THE ONLY THING I WOULD LIKE BETTER IS MORE EPISODES.

excellent series, watched it on tv and had to buy the dvd collection. love it and would watch it over and over again.cant wait for next season to come out

I was pleased to get this DVD set, but unknowingly didn't review the Region list, so I can't play it on my DVD players. I was discouraged (it was my fault that I didn't read the info.) But I am able to watch it on my laptop computer- so I was glad. I will know next time to check the Region list.

I love this series,Its such a shame they are not repeating blood ties and moonlight,WHY!!!!!!!! I think this is a very entertaining and different from the norm series,I couldnt wait to watch the next episode the following week,somebody needs to find out why the producers are are not continuing with this epic,Im sure there was a cult following! a disappointed viewer.

Very happy with the series- heard it was not renewed for a 3rd? season. I decided to buy it as my computer DVD player works on other regions & I can't catch it on TV all the time. First rate!!

This series is a must have for anyone who is hooked on novels by author Tanya Huff, as this series is based on her Blood books series. This series is a definite contender to steal the Buffy crown!!! (It's that good, honest!!!)
The acting is brilliant (especially Kyle Schmid who plays Henry the Vampire).
This is a must have for all fans of the gothic, fantasy and supernatural genres and it is a brilliant remedy for everyone pining Buffy, Angel or Moonlight.

i liked the series because it was a series that kept you wanting to see the next episode idecided to buy it because the case looked interesting with a dark side
