The First British Supergroup
This album is a classic, not to be missed by any serious music lover. It shows Winwood and Clapton at their best, in their pomp. They subtly complement each other with beautiful restraint. Clapton's finest hour is on this album, in my opinion, particularly the song "Presence of The Lord".
My 4/5 (not 5/5) rating is given mainly because of Ginger Baker's offering "Do What You What". When does a drummer write a good song? Answer: never. It messes up the aftertaste of the album, coming at the end, as it does. Surely one of the other guys could have written something to showcase Baker's undoubted talent.
And don't get me started about bonus tracks. They should be banned. We want the original album, remastered and nothing else. It always looks like a marketing ploy to me, to get the completist fanbase to buy the album again.
