Oscar-winner Nicole Kidman (Best Actress in a leading role, The Hours, 2002) and wickedly funny Will Ferrell (Wedding Crashers) star as actors playing Darrin and Samantha on a remake of the television show "Bewitched" in this cleverly crafted comedy from director Nora Ephron (Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail). Egomaniacal star Jack Wyatt (Ferrell) casts unknown Isabel (Kidman) as his co-star in order to monopolise the limelight and regain his top spot on Hollywood’s A-list. When Isabel, a real witch, discovers Jack’s self-centered scheme, she conjures a sidesplitting spell the mere mortal will never forget!

This,Bewitched,directed by Nora Ephron and inspired by the classic television series of the same name was often panned by critics and neglected by audiences,but still managed to earn $127,438,981 internationally as of late October 2005.

The film is not a direct adaptation of the television series.It is about a star that wants to find the perfect woman to play a witch (his wife)in a TV show,a modern adaptation of the classic TV show Bewitched.He wants an unknown regular girl,and finds her.He decides to downplay her role and make the show focus on Darrin (thus garnering the audience's attention upon himself).He finds out the hard way,however that she really is a witch.

So are you a fan of the orginal TV show?The show was an immediate hit,but this I am afraid to say,is an immediate flop.The TV show was so simple yet so enjoyable.The show's focus was the mixed marriage of a nose-twitching witch, Samantha Stephens,and her mortal husband,Darrin.Every episode promised a laugh especially when the mother in law was about and of course when magic was being used.

This film however will have you asking 1,000 questions.Instead of keeping the story simple like the original show,the producers devised a complicated and nonsensical plot.This film is obviously called Bewitched,but in the film an average actor plans to save his career by,wait for it,acting in a remake of Bewitched!If that wasn't enough,he also just happens to cast a real witch for the role who also just happens to have links with the relatives from the original show.This film will confuse you.

So would you be crazy to miss this?No.You would however be crazy to rent or buy this as it will not only confuse but will also dissapoint.Even Nicole Kidman can't save this one.

Bewitched doesn't cast a spell over audiences but stars Nicole Kidman and Will Ferrell have enough magic between them to create something simple and fun.
You may be more bothered and bewildered than bewitched by this spoof-remake of the classic TV series. :)
Still with all it's good and bad points it's an ok film and i enjoyed it.

I Bought the film mainly because Nicole Kidman was in it. It was a bit slow in places, but worth a watch.

love this film! i love how a witch plays a witch in play, its such a good story line! and how she falls in love so quick, its so cute

this film is a fantastic romantic comedy,i thought the original bewitched would be hard to live up to, but the scriptwriters had got it right!!!
a great family film, that even the kids will enjoy, it had me spellbound from beginning to end. there was nothing really to dislike about this film.

The witch Isabel Bigelow (Nicole Kidman) arrives in California with the objective of having a normal life without spells. Meanwhile, in Hollywood, the egocentric actor Jack Wyatt (Will Ferrell) is trying to retrieve his former prestige in the cinema industry playing Darrin in a remake of the successful TV Series "Bewitched". When Jack meets Isabel by chance and sees her moving her nose, he immediately decides to invite her to perform Samantha. His second intention is to cast an unknown actress and overshadow her performance. When Isabel finds his real intention, she becomes upset and her aunt puts a hex on Jack. But Isabel is in love with Jack and decides to tell him the truth about her

i wanted the dvd so that i could add it to my dvd collection, and its cheaper to buy on ebay and the seller was selling it cheap.

no where near as good as the original but still amusing for a night in! wouldnt do nicole's cv any good but still funi!

Nicole Kidman is brilliant as usual. The film is light hearted and funny. It is definitely worth keeping in your collection because it is certainly a film you will watch again because of its feel good factor.

Good fun family DVD which everyone will enjoy. Very funny acting by Will Farrel as always and great acting by the new Samantha Nicol Kidman. You will laugh all the way through and may also buy this on video as well as the DVD format. It is currently snowing here so im going to watch bewitched.

Good film, not as good as the oringal telly programe but still really good to watch.

This film's not to bad, but I preferred the original series 1964/1972 with Elizabeth Montgomery, (Samantha) Dick York, (Darrin)

I thought this was a really enjoyable family film. I think it helps if you're not constantly comparing it to the original series - as like all other tv programmes that are made into films, it can't be compared! It's a film! I enjoyed as did my boyfriend, 12 year old niece and 4 year old niece! Suits all ages.

Enjoyable family film. Good to see clips of the original series. I didn't like it as much as the original starring Elizabeth Montgomery but Nicole Kidman makes a good Samantha.

got it for my mother who loves the original series as most mothers do, but she was a bit disappointed with this modern remake although said was watchable

How come a great TV series with attaching characters, pleasant stories and full of fun became a " turkey " in cinema.
I have one answer to you : Will Farrell. His style and personnality doesn't match the grace and talent of Nicole Kidman and Michael Caine.
The director should have keep the original ideas and location of the series in a modern environment.
Disapointing

Good family DVD.
But looked back to the old bewitched tv series. Expected more into new ideas. But still enjoyed it.
Reason I bought it was all the publicity surronding it. and remembered the Tv series.

The DVD was not a copy, it was as described in the auction, it arrived quite quickly and in good condition, there are no negative aspects of this purchase I am very happy with it, I bought it because my parents used to watch the series on TV and I thought that they would like to see the film, which they did, it cheered them both up when they were not very well.
