Not brilliant, but not too bad.

Steven Seagal has made some 17 films since his last decent effort “Exit Wounds” in 2001. Since then, they’ve virtually all been very poor. He has, of course, redeemed himself with his latest efforts – Renegade Justice (aka Urban Justice) and Pistol Whipped.
However, of the "17", this is one of his better efforts. As with most of his films, you need to forget the plot/storyline (he’s a government agent - surprise! surprise!) and just wait for the action scenes.
This certainly contains some great fight scenes, but is let down by the use of a very obvious double (if you’re going to use one, make sure they’re not 5 inches shorter and 50 lbs lighter!). Remember, we're not talking about using a double for some dangerous stunts, but for the actual fights!
Seagal isn’t a great actor, so those of us who watch his films rely on the fight scenes. Therefore, you feel a bit cheated when it is SO obvious that it’s not him fighting. Okay, it’s him doing all the Aikido moves, but are we really expected to believe he now does Kung Fu? (Watch for the jumping, spinning kicks etc). And the wire work is quite obvious.
A good film, but one that could have been so much better had some thought gone into it.
