Works out of the box but is a little big for what it is, seems to work well though, I bought it as I have one main computer running off a bt home hub and 3 computers in another room (PC,PS3 etc) and the home hub does not have enough outputs plus this way allowed me to just run one ethernet cable to the other room (with the 3 comps) then just connect all the devices to this switch.
