Modern day account of a classic Writer

If you liked Atonement starring Keira Knightly and the gorgeous James McAvoy, you will love this film. It's another historical account set when Jane Austen was in her 20s and was inspired to write such works as Pride & Prejudice. It's the usual story of girl meets boy, they hate each other at first, fight for a while and fall in love - but what makes this film compelling to watch is down to the very witty and sarcastic dialogue between the lead characters Jane and Tom. Julie Walters is very funny, as always, in the scenes she is in. Anne Hathaway does a commendable English accent, as does James McAvoy considering he is Scottish. Am glad to see film studio didn't go for the usual lead actresses previously used in period films such as Kate Winslet, Gwyneth etc. Lots of special features worthy of a period piece. Best thing about it though has to be the very lovely James McAvoy who is proving to be an excellent Leading Man! The story can be a tad slow at times which I feel is the only down-side.
