Disney classic released in 1992. Plenty of poor pirate versions around. If you're buying, make sure you purchase an authentic version, as displayed in my guide, that has the Disney hologram.

This is a fantastic movie that is watchable time and time again. The animation is superb and Disney's remakable talent of bringing life and characteristics to inanimate object shines through. This film has emotion, incredible music & animation, characters that you admire, laugh at, and despise. The film has great family appeal and has us grown-ups chuckling at some of the lines! The movie is a fun ride from beginning to end. We can all relate with the suffering of the Beast (being an outsider), and we all know a Gaston in our lives. The way we can identify with the characters sucks us into the story. Don't miss this classic...the only animated film to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.
If you are going to purchase this DVD, don't waste your money on the scores of bootlegs, pirates and illegal imports (ie fakes) that are listed on ebay. Buy a genuine copy of this magical movie and you will not be disapointed. For advice on how to spot a pirate and to see examples of pirate copies of this DVD sold on ebay check the disneycalendar.co.uk website.

Beauty & The Beast is still one of the best animated films of all time. A classic tale of how love goes deeper than just looks and the rewards that come from learning to love somebody. Wonderfully animated for it's time, this is a Disney masterpiece for the whole family to enjoy. The only thing that can possibly be taken away from this movie is that there is maybe a little too much song, but otherwise this remains an epic movie to watch again and again.

It's a charming film. Spirited and intelligent village beauty Belle (O'Hara) escapes the attentions of macho village lunkhead Gaston (White) when she sets off to save her father from the noble but tortured man-beast (Benson) - a giant gorilla-cun-lion - who has him imprisoned. Gradually, love blossoms between the two and the Beast's secret - that he is actually a bewitched man - is revealed.
The animation for the set pieces is excellent, Lansbury's fussy teapot takes top honours in the vocal performances and the musical numbers by Ashman and Menken aren't too schmaltzy. Kids love it and parents will be able to bear it for the first 17 times.

My daughter loved the book Beauty and the Beast.She kept asking if we could get film. So we rented it from the local video shop a few times.
I searched high and low in the shops to get her one for her birthday to be told its not made or distributed anymore in the UK.
So I decided to look on ebay as I often do.
I found the film and it stated that it was a genuine Disney DVD, which was important to me.
Well I was the winning bidder and couldnt wait for the DVD to arrive. The DVD arrived very promptly, I opened it and was so pleased it was a genuine DVD as stated. I gave it to my daughter who was thrilled. I think weve seen it over a hundred times and its stillperfect, the quality is great and as far as im concernced a real bargain. My advice - if you cant find it in the shops look on ebay

Such a beautiful story by Disney a great classic movie for all the family to watch. Happy, sad and also very funny in parts. Disney always go beyond with there fantastic tales. People of all ages enjoy and they always seem to bring another after another great film out for all to see, and laugh and sometimes cry at. They are the best film makers ever which I am sure you will all agree. Super Duper Fun For All The Family To Watch.

This is one of my favourite Disney films and fortunately my daughter loves it too. As with many Disney Classics they are only on release for a short period of time so I purchased an original used copy so that my daughter could enjoy it while she is still young enough (three years). The story is lovely, the beast a tad scary and the songs very catchy.

This is mine and my daughter's favourite disney dvd. disney will not be releasing it until 2012, so i was looking everyehere to buy a copy.
This is every little girls dream story with great charectors, songs and beautiful story, recomend this to any littlt princess.

Brilliant brilliant Disney film. Characters are beautifully done, story is heart warming, there is a comic aspect in the talking furniture and tea set.
Belle is a clever young lady who will not marry a dim witted hunter called Gaston. The Beast has been hiding from the world for years after being cursed by a witch, but he falls for Belle and so you have a classic love story about love conquering all.
As an adult I can still watch this film over and over, my children grew up with it and now my grandson loves it.

We loved this, the music and story has my daughter spellbound. I had been looking for this particular version for a while, with Angela Landsbury as Mrs Potts. We were realy pleased to get it and it has been on every day.

Our 5 year old daughter had the video version. It was getting much loved and in need of a replacement. We decided to purchase the DVD version and turned to Ebay as the item did not seem to be available elsewhere. It's such a fantastic film and has a bit of everything; romance, action, thrills and fear! It's such a wonderful 'feel good' film that my husband and I often settle down for a viewing with our daughter! We all sing along to the songs and get soppy at the end of the film when the Beast becomes the handsome prince again and all the characters become people - aaahhh!

I bought this DVD as this is my favourite disney dvd and I can't but it anywhere in the shops. This dvd is not a copy, but is an import - although there is no difference between this import and the real thing. I LOVE IT.

My daughter was going to see the stage show of Beauty and the Beast at the Marlow theatre in Canterbury so we decided to purchase this DVD. Generally Disney in there infinate wisdom do not stock there titles in the shops and delete them making them impossible to get. So I turned my attention to EBAY and found it online. The DVD was excellent and we enjoyed it all the way through. It had much ground breaking technology within it including some of the first computersed animation. The songs were good and it was a real tear jerker at the end but did have a happy ending. Well don Ebay and Didnsy

Set in and around a quaint French village during the late 18th Century, Beauty and the Beast follows the fantastic adventures of Belle, a bright and beautiful young woman who finds escape from her ordinary life, and the advances of a boorish suitor, Gaston, by reading books. In order to remove the curse, the Beast must discover a true love who will return his affection before the last petal falls from an enchanted rose. When Belle's inventor father stumbles upon the Beast's castle and is taken prisoner, Belle comes to the rescue and agrees to take her father's place. With the help of the castle's enchanted staff, she sees beneath the Beast's exterior and discovers the heart and soul of a human prince.

Another charming film from Disney. Beautiful. Aimed at girls, for reasons i don't entirely understand, this film is a great contribution to the story of all time. Nothing really changes in it just the beast himself i think. But never the less a wonderful film which young and old male or female can and will enjoy.

Beauty and the Beast is one of my most favourite Disney films, the film is really enjoyable and completely timeless. I heard it is also the only animated film to ever be nominated for the best picture academy award.

What can you say about this film???It is a classic Disney film with all the humour, romance and general good feeling we have come to expect. The story is a timeless one and done well here with the relationship between belle and the beast strained then changed then developing into something special. I watched this first as a child and loved it then as I do now and I am so glad I brought it.
My favorite scene is the ballroom scene, the shot of the view descending over the chandelier to capture belle and beast dancing is fantastic! The end still brings me to tears even now years later.
I consider myself an avid film watcher and it takes a lot for a dvd to worm its way into my heart and call me soppy but disney do it time and again...they seem to have a knack for tuggin on the 'ole heart strings with both cartoons and films... 'little mermaid', 'the rookie' etc
If you haven't seen this then what is wrong with you..go on i dare you watch it, so what if its a cartoon, it will make you smile and in these times isn't that something that we all could do with.
