It was better when I was a kid

A new work colleauge of mine reminded me about this movie during conversation one night, and I thought of making a search for it here in eBay.
Sure enough I found it, and quickly ordered it and eagerly awaited its arrival.
A few days later, the DVD was in my machine and I sat back to watch it.
Its strange though, the last time I seen this movie I was pre-teen and now being 31 years old I was looking at it with totally different eyes.
The film was much brighter and less violent than I remember, although the Eagle worshipping, bat type men things are still freaky and their means of disposing of enemies very grotesque.
Dar (The Beastmaster) along with Kiri (The Slave Princess) make for an entertaining show. Tanya Roberts (Kiri) is totally gorgeous, and is almost worth watching for alone.
Any fans of Rip Torn will enjoy seeing him in his role as Maax, the High Priest, in this early (1982) movie.
Overall, the movie and effects are average, but if you like Sword and Sorcery style movies, then you can do worst than this classic.

Was slightly worried as it was a korean import and I was concerned about the quality, but it was just how I remembered it with a few extras that were cut out on tv. Excellent value, costs over £30 on amazon.

to me this is a classic 1980s film. i loved it as a kid and still love it! it stars marc singer (who u will remember from the tv show V)as the beastmaster who can control animals and gos into battle with a hawk, 2 ferrets and a great big Black tiger at his side! the sword fighting battles look great for a film thats 25 years old, its dated very well and im glad i got it on dvd!

) I'm pleased to own such an epic classic on DVD. What a fantastic film always remembered from my childhood which was rented on vhs from our local shop love Tanya Roberts it will be watched over and over again. ;-)

always enjoy these type of films enjoyed this one a loti have already viewed the first two of these movies some few years ago and always enjoy magical films enjoyed this one the way animals were used in a way other films have not especialy using weasels

Loved this film when it was first released and had it on VHS format, so was surpried and pleased to find it on ebay.
Yes, it is listed among the worst ten films every made (each to their own opinion), and yes, it is a bit corny, but if you want nearly two hours of fantasy and escapism. Buy it, sit back and enjoy.

the legend of Beastmasterwhy i Bought The Beastmaster was for my dad on fathers day.
what me, my Bro and dad liked about it was the mythical adventure and fighting and when the beastmaster first met podo and codo his two ferrets.
we did not dislike any of the movie.

) the reason why i love this film is because, i use to own a copy of it on vhs video, & now i own it on dvd in which has been added to my vast dvd collection, it has taken me a long time to purchase this dvd, as it has not been on general release on dvd,i have tried many dvd retailers but to no avail, my only other option was to go on ebay, in which to my surprise was there, where i had purchased it from, i was so delighted in receiving this dvd,& very happy to watch it over & over again.although this is an old film, it is still one of the best sword fighting fantasy films around, i have also purchased many more like this one from this era, as i found many of these films were made in that decade, anyone who has not seen this film, should watch it, it is a very thrilling adventure & well acted & it was a low budget film.i would dare to say it is one of my all time favourite films, & now i am extremely very happy i have it on dvd, i would like to thank ebay for giving me the opportunity to purchase this item on their site, baecause without ebay, i would never of found it, as i have had exhausted all other dvd retailers ie;play.com,hmv, amazon etc in finding it, i have always said many times to my family & friends,if there is anything anybody wants just go on to ebay, you will always find it there, & its not difficult to register either, it's so simple & easy to use, it's self explainatory, even paying for your item is easy, especially with paypal as it is quick & safe to use with your credit/debit card as it is protected by them.
