BATTLESTAR GALACTICA SERIES 3

Continuing the journey of survivors of the 12 colonies as they battle to find the fabled planet Earth. Who are they battling? Cylons, one time robotic servants, now lethal, implacable enemies of humankind, their one goal to wipe out the last remnants of a once powerful race.
At the end of series 2, the ragtag survivors found a planet, ideal for colonisation, hidden from the cylons who appear to have left the humans in peace at last. Most of the survivors decide to leave the fleet in orbit and start new lives, just as everyone is getting used to the new life, the Cylons arrive, exit the 2 undermanned 'Battlestars' and any ships still in orbit, leaving those on the planet to the mercies of their enemies. Thus ends series 2.
Now, with an ending like that who could possibly resist watching the next series? Certainly not any self indulgent sci-fi fan (hand up).
Series 3 starts 4 months after the Cylon invasion, the main characters having formed a resistance and it is this that dominates the story for the first couple of episodes, showing how previously good people are absorbed into the Cylon influenced society, and join the 'police force' for the good of the many.
Of course, a rescue is planned by the Adammas, Admiral and Commander, and duly carried out is sensational style, with panache and at one point a 'will the Admiral survive or not' scenario unfolds.
A bit weak mid season, the season finale, although not as gripping as season 2, will have you, I am sure, like me waiting impatiently for season 4 and hoping writers strikes do not damage the storyline.
