got it as a prezzie i know they love battlestar galactica, cant get enought of it.thinks he would love them all on blue ray next ,he watch them again and again.

Some times on eBay you have to be careful when you buy DVD's. Some times you end up with cheap far east copies with subtitles. I was a little worried by the price of this set as it was very low, however when the DVD's arrived I was very happy to find that they were original UK discs. They arrived quickly and very well packed.
Don't take a chance buy from this seller.

An absolutely brilliant series, which just seems to go from strength to strength. Great plot line(s), a must view for Sci Fi fans! The only down side is that it is very addictive and you have to keep watching :-)

The new Battlestar Glactica goes from strength to strentgth, I watched the first series in a mad 48 hrs and am already gripped on the second.
The ideas, political agitation, democracy, threat from within, surprise and engage the viewer at every moment. Each character is well drawn and the most cliched, a female starbuck has a depth and ambiquity that belies the seemingly superficail idea behind her creation.
Interestingly in a secular society, a mainstream tv drama dealing directly with religious beliefs, the president is fortold in the ancient scriptures, the programes equivelant of the old testament shows a bravery of the writers and producers not to talk down to their viewers.
It is without doubt one of the best tv shows currently broadcasting and if the above puts you off in the belief this is a pretentious and staid programme, believe me you would be wrong, the special effects and action scenes are of the highest calibre and will put you in awe of it.
Go out and see it now.

As a fan of season one I had to buy this to carry on the series.I havent been let down so far and would heartily recomend it to any sci fi fan.Quite dark and violent in places and the action is well done.

Tense - Dramatic - Emotional - Gripping - a rollercoaster ride fuelled by excellent scripting and acting. This is not the usual plastic Star Trek type Sci-Fi, it is gritty and unsettling in parts, covering all the awkward themes of human survival. It is a must watch series.

Continues with this multi-layered storyline, and is not just a special effects bonanza. I think it's better than the original.

Have looked closely at the product delivered, and all disks havge been looked after and are clean and free from marks. I have played the first episode and it played sweetly with no hickups in sound and picture quality. I have every faith and confidence that the rest of the DVD disks will play as well as the first.

Why did I buy this item? Well I am an avid follwoer of quality Sci-Fi, and the new working of the battlestar galactica story shows a good eye for detail and solid story lines, and as they say... "God is in the detail, SO SAY WE ALL!" I will continue to hunt for and purchase the rest of the seasons as they become available. Thank you for this forum to say my part.

Short and simple. It comes in a nice pictured box and the DVD's are in their own separate cases with a short synopsis on what's on the DVD as you would hope, all round good deal for the money and looks good on me shelf too.

The item was sealed and brand new. Delivery was superfast - less than 24 from payment. And the DVD itself is the continuation of the characters and events onboard the Galactica. Starbuck is still hot!

Bought this because I already had the pilot episode and season 1.
Also watched and enjoyed original Battlestar Galactica from 70's.
In the first season we were introduced to many of the same characters who were
in the original 70's show; Adama,Starbuck,Boomer,Tigh etc.
It was interesting that they changed some of the characters from male to female;
Starbuck and Boomer.
Also liked how the Cylons had evolved into more humanoid forms (while still keeping the Robot style Cylons as well), we only saw 4 of the new "human" Cylons
in the first season.
Second season continued on from were it ended in first season; Adama's assassination by Boomer(Cylon),Starbuck stranded on Caprica and Baltar,Chief and others stranded on Kobol.
Really enjoyed second season with the Adama recovering and getting the fleet and crew back together; including rescuing the people from Kobol.
We were introduced to 3 new "human" Cylons, still 5 more to discover as there are meant to be 12.
Second season ended with the Cylons again invading and taking prisoner the civilians and crew who were now on a new planet, Galactica and the other ships had to abandon them as they could not win in a battle with the Cylons at this time.
Looking forward to season three and the continuing saga......

I wanted to watch the second Series as I got the first a was very much impressed with it.

so great stories and good writing. The acting is good throw out.

I bought this recently on EBAY, after first watching the new Mini Series and 1st season. I wasn't sure at first as a few of my friends had not been complementary about it, stating that, 'as a series it took itself far too seriously'
After watching the Mini, 1st and now 2nd season, I must admit that I disagree. Battlestar boasts the best CGI effects that I have ever seen in a TV series and the characters are extremely well written, with various key story lines and arcs being offered throughout.
Season 2 certainly picks up the pace and ends with a rip roaring climax which leaves me waiting in anticipation for season 3.
Well done to all and I heartily recommend this series.

This collection continued the excellent plot themes commenced in the mini-series and first season. The cast were well chosen and they deliver their roles with aplomb. There were some notable guest appearances from Michelle Forbes, Lucy Lawless and Dean Stockwell. There is a 'cliff hanger' ending to the season.

One disappointment was that the region 2 set does not include all the 'extras' found on the region 1 discs, only the extras from the first half of the season.

Nevertheless it was still very enjoyable and I am eagerly looking forward to watching the third season.

A great TV series fantastic viewing. Can't believe how short the episodes are without adverts & titles.

Some episodes feel like fill in episodes but all great. Fabulous ending can't wait for series 3.

A fantastic follow up to the first series, This series just gets better and better. can't waite for series 3 to come out.

THe most fantastic TV series I have seen in years. Thoroughly enjoyable. The DVD is great with a few extras and deleted scenes. Very high class.

Hi all, firstly i'm a 49 yr old and been brought up with the sci-fi era, and can say this is an excellent series, since my 30yr old son had the 1st series boxed set we was hooked, although the 3rd season is now finished and we are kind of just catching up, this is much better than that 'Lost' that all the teenagers rave on about, my wife and i cant wait for the 3rd boxed set to appear, and also my younger teenage son is also now hooked, although an old story its a fantastic re-run, much superior to the original, and bang up to date with the special effects and acting quality, there is a lot of shaking throughout the series, a little over the top but does not detract from the whole feel of this superb space production,...thank you.

I had seen odd episodes of this on a UK satelite chaneel, but never managed to get into it - I think it may have been the constant adverts. Having sat down with this, I found the series very gripping and gritty, not at all like the 70s series, and nothing like any of the over sanitised Star Trek series. Each episode stands in its own right, but several storylines run the length of the series.

I really enjoyed it, and would recommend it to anyone. I cant wait for the next series to be available (I decided not to bother with the advert ridden tv channel again). Buy It!

What a fantastic re-make. I am totally addicted to this show. I have re-watched the first two seasons 4 times in a row because they are so good. Even if you didn't like the original sieres you must try this!!! This is BETTER than the original series.
