What a lovely family film that will be loved by all. Such an unusal but fasinating film.

All steven Spielberg's films are just fantastic in my book and this is as well,

When an unscrupulous real estate developer sends thugs into a deteriorating tenement to get ri of the last five teants, they need nothing short of a miracle to stay where they are.

One night when all hope seems lost, tiny visitors from outer space mysteriously glide through their windows. As if in answer to thier prayers, the incredible creatures begin to turn the tide with their magical powers.

  A Great Family Film

This movie has been out a while, but it is a great film that hasn't dated. There's no great explosions, masive wars or battles, but it is one of the best films my family have watched in ages. It is suitable for any one between the ages 3 and 103+ and you wont be disapointed. The characters are funny, sad, exciting and extreamly well played, Jessica Tandy doing a superb job as the dippy grandmother figure.
A great film, not to be missed!

Batteries not included an all time classic!!!
Review created: 10/11/08

This film is a must have and an all time classic, and one of the best i must say. If you are a fan of the older films then this is for you! The story of a poor old couple being forced outta there home because a business man wants to build something better is heartbrakeing but then help arrives!!!!

There isnt much i didnt like about the film, the quialty considering it was made in 1987 is amazing but it has been remade of digitally mastered for DVD in 2002. I brought this DVD because it was going for an amazing prize better than anywhere else, it is an all time classic and a must see, it a story full of romance, comedy, sci fi and fantasy which it fit for all the family!!!!

It was a few years ago that i first watched this film and I have tried all this time to find it. Now I have.
It is a very good film and from the very beginning i needed a box of tissues too.
The best part of the film is when the little spaceships hover around him. H then knows that everything was going to be alright.

  Wonderful Spielberg
Review created: 17/09/08

I never thought i would sit and review a film that has a storyline of Dustbin lids eating metal then giving birth to baby bin lids.
BUT, once again Steven Spielberg turns a simple story into a magical film like only he can do. Special effects galore and brilliant scenes create another Spielberg Masterpiece.
Wonderful.

*batteries not included is a 1987 family film directed by Matthew Robbins about an aprtment block under threat from property development which is saved by cute extraterrestrial living machines dubbed "fix-its".

The story was originally intended to be featured in the TV series Amazing Stories, but Steven Spielberg liked the idea so much that he decided to make it a theatrical release.

Many of the film's foreign releases (including at least French, German, Italian and Portuguese) used the title Miracle on 8th Street

Excellent Film!

Brillant Retro Film!

10/10!

My 85year old father visited his great aunt in Brooklyn many years ago and I thought he would identify with the elderly couple trying to save the building, which was exactly like the one he stayed in. His wife (my mother) died 18 months ago and when they were together they were exactly like the two main characters and the apartment was the same, so it could easily have been them taking on a "cause" like the one in this plot.

The story of a group of residents in New York's East side who are slowly being bullied into selling up by a wealthy property developer. Until their friends decide to help out.
But these are no ordinary friends. Oh no! Visitors from outer space have made their home on the roof and set about thwarting the baddies at every turn.
A "feel good" film by anyone's standards, this amusing, and poignant in places, tale is a worthwhile addition to anyone's DVD collection.
