Batman And Robin (DVD 1998)

Wow this really was the worst ever batman film ,Never ever have i seen such a terrible film Not even Batman himself could save this one poor story way over the effects which half of the time just looked tacky . To anyone who reads this review put your money away do not buy as its truly awful.

It was for my daughter she is 2.5 and loves Batman I figured buying it on ebay I'd get it a lot cheaper just incase she moves onto liking something else!!

I bought this for my 2 boys who are batman mad, they are very young and this was a great alternative to batman the dark night which is not suitable for young ones.

Batman And Robin has many great features. George Clooney, Chris O' Donnell and Arnold Schwarzenegger in one film is brilliant. The acting is very well performed. The films effects are a bit cheesy but there good enough. The scenery used is very interesting and good. The two villians are excellent. Arnie plays Mr Freeze and does a great job. Uma Thurman does well as Poison Ivy. Some interesting plots are used in this film. The film is very fun and appeals to younger audiences.

Plot:

The dynamic duo are back but this time they are up against the nefarious Mr. Freeze, who is bent on turning the world into an iceberg, and the slyly seductive but highly toxic Poison Ivy, who wants to eliminate all animal life and turn the Earth into a gigantic greenhouse. And Batman's butler Alfred is dying for a mysterious disease that Freeze's wife has. It's up to Batman, Robin the Boy Wonder and the new heroin Batgirl Alfred's niece to fight all three villains and save Alfred before he dies! But unfortunately Mr. Freeze holds the key to save his life.

another great film to add to my collection this one is a really watchable film for all batman fans perfect.

Pretty naff movie, but I have a wee one who loves Robin and so he liked it. Fine for younger kids but unless you want to drool over Chris O'Donnell and George Clooney in tight rubber not one for you 8)

My 7 year old son was desperate to get hold of this and we all enjoyed it! It might be cheesy but at least it is more family friendly than the newer ones. I felt it was more like the whole comic book feel of the original series. With George Clooney and Chris O'Donnell for Mum and Alicia Silverstone and Uma Thurman for Dad we were all happy to watch! Ignore the other reviews and just enjoy some fairly innocent fun.

The movie itself is a very entertaining movie because of some of the action however there are some rather annoying bits to the movie such as Robin being a bit of a spoilt boy and Mr Freeze's cheesy puns ("it's time to cool off").

Overall brushing past those, this movie is a good enough movie but certainly isn't awesome. Joel Schumacher really tried but failed to succeed with making the Batman series a hit.

My son was after this film as soon as he first watched it. He loves his super hero films. The characters are brilliant,colourful and very imaginative. I think its an all round favourite if your a big superhero fan. Especially Batman. The actors were picked fabulously for this film.
Uma Thurman and Arnold Schwarzenegger make brilliant baddies.
I think its great introducing a female heroine into the plot too. I recommend this film to anybody who loves superheroes!

My little boy (and myself) are hooked on this film. It's excellent, we have watched it so many times and never get bored of it. If you havent already got it, buy it !

This is an excellent way to purchase DVDs for kids, as they are so cheap. Everyone knows how fickle children can be. They'll watch the same DVD on a continual loop for about a fortnight, and then show no interest for the next six months. They'll discover it at the bottom of the toy box and the cycle starts over again.

We rented the movie and my kids loved it so much we decided to buy a copy.
Great film! Mr Freeze and Poision Ivy are great enemies of Batman and Robin and good to see Batgirl getting some action!

We bought this DVD to complete the set.
The film was good on the whole, but much more aimed at the younger audiance and more cartoon orientated. This could be a positive and a negative point. For children who love batman it is much more watchable than the earlier creepier films, which is shown in its PG rating, for the adult audiance you have to switch your brain off!!!!
It was a watchable film and quite entertaining, but lacked the substance of the previous batman films.
