Barbie In The Nutcracker (DVD 2002)

My daughter loves this, she loves the story line and the dancing, a must for any ballet mad little girl. I bought it as we'd borrowed it from the library and it has been on the tv non-stop since it arrived.

Skilfully animated - quality throughout. Dazzling effects with a clever reworking of an old story set to Fantastic classical music. Beautiful story line to love again and again! Choreography( the dance routines) were actually computer modelled on REAL New Yorks top Ballet dancers -how much effort do Mattel go to? ALL THE WAY! BRILLIANT!! Since i have watched this movie with my daughter and Barbie's SWAN LAKE we were so dazzled by its dancing general charms that we have now booked tickets at The Grand theatre Leeds to see The National London Ballet Company perform - SWAN LAKE. Watch the Ballet documentary in the more fun features section of the dvd, very good and dance inspiring. 10 / 10 for overall; enjoyability, quality, values, story line. watched again and again. Recomended - all the Barbie Princess Collection.

from the age of 2 my little girl has loved this film, she used to watch it two-three times a day if we let her nothing else has ever come close for her pure enjoyment and wanting to dance like barbie. This film has helped her with enjoying dance and classical music, what a joy.

my little girl is in to barbie, i didnt want to pay a lot for the dvd cause they chanbge their mind a lot. this was great value and a high qualty dvd.

I bought it for my daughter who loves it, she has to watch it at least once a day - its a lovely story, a modern twist from the original, with some funny quirky parts and a really good viewing.

brilliant adaptation of this children's classic - a must for any little girl or aspiring ballerina - music is fantastic

I bought this DVD to complete my Daughter's Barbie DVD collection, she is a great fan. I enjoyed the movie too!

As a parent I find this film quite watchable (once or twice any way), which surprised me as it was a Barbie spin off.

It uses the original music from the Nutcracker ballet and as such is a nice introduction to classical music for children. My kids love the music, even my son!

For the ballet/barbie obsessed child, this film ticks all the boxes, lots of pink, dancing and Barbie saves the day. It also includes some nice extras including a film about the life of a ballerina, from the New York Ballet and an interactive 'Act with Barbie' option. What more could you ask?

The story of the Nutcracker is just magical. I think what sets this apart from other stories in the Barbie library is that it is a real classic story with fabulous classical music accompaniament. I love the fantasy of the story of the Nutcracker and Clara and this is made even more special by the fabulous music and wonderful animated ballet dancing - done by the New York Ballet. The London Symphony Orchestra play the Nutcracker music by Tchaikovsky. It is really quite captivating. My daughter who is 4 at the moment just is transfixed by the whole story. She even tries to copy the dancing - much to our downstairs neighbour's disapproval!!

A fabulous DVD that any little girl would love to watch again and again.
