The plot is Aliens have come to earth and are using people for their Fast Food Industry.
I'm not a big fan of Peter Jackson but this cult 'Black Comedy' film was pretty good. Funny in parts, sick in others. Soundtrack is a bit dodgy because they lost the original audio tape. So it's completely overdubbed. It also took 4 years to film due to having no money.
A brilliant film if you like gore and silliness and aliens.
You've got to start your directing debut somewhere. If he hadn't done this film he may have never gone on to direct The Lord of the Rings Trilogy or King Kong, or even Braindead!

) This is actually quite a rare dvd to find as it was Region 2 and written in English!
My partner is a huge fan of Peter Jackson so I bought this as a christmas present.
He will absolutely love it and I was delighted with how good the quality of the dvd was, as well as how professional the seller was.

BAD TASTEThis is an awsome comedy horror from PETER JACKSON , back when he first started makin films i think , in this low budget movie he pais some of his own friends to do the acting which isnt that bad considering lol . Aliens come down to earth to try and use humans for there fast food empire up in space , but the " BOYS " have a different idea and go about killing them all of using guns and chainsaws and pretty much anything else . Great film , can watch it over and over :) . If you like this you will probably like BRAINDEAD aswell , another great comedy horror from the master , PETER JACKSON .

) I decided to buy this film because i want to be a director and i thought buying Peter Jackson's first feature film would give me better insight into the weird world of the film industry. This film lived up to it's expectations. Weird, gory and a good representation of why Peter Jackson is one of the best directors of our time.

Story: After working on this movie for more than four years on an extremely tight budget (and with a cast and crew consisting only of himself and a group of close friends), filmmaker Peter Jackson eventually completed it with the help of the New Zealand Film Commission, who were very impressed with what they'd seen so far of Jackson's first cinematic effort. In BAD TASTE, a small New Zealand coastal town is taken over by the extraterrestrial Lord Crumb and his army of alien invaders, who are planning to harvest the inhabitants for an intergalactic chain of fast-food restaurants. But Derek (Jackson) and his mates from AIDS (the Astro Investigation and Defense Service) are sent in by the government to destroy the enemy at all costs and ensure the survival of mankind. With plenty of gross-out shock effects, grotesque humanoid aliens, and high camp value, it's easy to see why this film became a cult favorite and a big hit on the midnight-movie scene. Jackson would go on to direct the ultragory DEAD ALIVE, the acclaimed drama HEAVENLY CREATURES, and one of the greatest trilogies in cinema history THE LORD OF THE RINGS.

Man amazing for a low budget movie.
Zombies or aliens trying attacking humans, especially beginning was cool, when he shot the first alien, he shot parts of his head off, then half a head still coming at him, he falls with his body upon his gun, he pushes gun inside him, other zombies coming, he shoots them, hilarious
Then he pushes body away, and goes away, a other zombie starts eating the dead alien's brains with a SPOON!!!
Guy falls down a clif, head busted open, brains pouring out, he tries to hold his brains in with a hat, then with a belt, hilarious lol.
Definately Recomendable, from beginning to end, only the aliens when there true form are shown are a bit bad, they could've done that a bit better, even on low-budget.
Buy, Rent of watch it on TV, You don't want to miss out on this one.
