Album Notes Released in 2005, this 24-track collection presents the mid-1990s Creation Records output of the influential Scottish twee-pop band BMX Bandits. Masterminded by singer/guitarist Duglas T. Stewart, the group excels at highly melodic and easy-going tunes that presaged the aesthetic of fellow Scot acts such as Belle & Sebastian and Arab Strap. The band is also adept at cover tunes, as revealed on charming versions of Beat Happening's "Cast a Shadow" and Burt Bacharach's "It Doesn't Matter Anymore." Like related ensembles such as the Vaselines and the Pastels, BMX Bandits are destined to be revered by only a few, but those who tap into their wavelength will be bountifully rewarded with SERIOUS DRUGS.
