I'm really pleased I finally got around to buying this movie...It's one I've wanted to see for a while and I am certainly not disappointed!
It's a quirky love story which isn't short on cleverly scripted comedy as well as a fair old helping of guns and mobsters. Lovely, charming performance from Stallone and a superb homage to Anthony Quinn, this being his last film.
Funny, engrossing, charming and entirely satisfying. I've already watched it several times and am yet to be tired of it. Highly recommended.

) Sly must be the most underated actor of his generation and this film wont win any new fans but Sly nuts will lap it up. After the brilliant Get Carter this film is not as well produced or edgy but its well worth a watch.

. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version.
