Constant Trouble with Windows Vista x64Review created: 13/10/09

Purchased this soundcard to replace on-board sound, however using this with Windows Vista x64 as brought nothing but trouble, if placed near a graphics card it overheats and disconnects itself, you cannot select 24-bit sound in windows vista, they are IRQ conflicts with other system devices. The only way to get this card working effectively in windows vista is to reformat your PC, that is the only way this will refresh all hardware and IRQs, but if you dont and its close to a graphics card be prepared for pulling your hair out as I have done, I wish Id have never purchased it.

I've been waiting for a long time to find a sound card that you can simply plug in and then attach to my mulitimedia receiver using an optical cable, and Hey Presto! 5.1 discrete channel surround sound.
Pros:
**Great Quality - Gold plated connectors, no expense spared on components
**Upgradable - DAC/ADC's can be upgraded for Audiophiles out there!
**Compatibilty - Works with all current games I have tried and even old ones. Supports DD and DTS passthrough for DVD, Blu-ray mvies etc.
**Cost - does what an expensive Creative card does, with better drivers and ore features
**Performance - Reduces CPU usage for users which use the on-board sound capabilities of most motherboards. Low latency in Fruity loops and other music authoring software.
Cons:
**Only outputs 5.1, not 7.1 when using Optical/Coax cable instead of analogue connectors - not a major issue as no other card I know does either.
If you are a gamer, film buff or even starting to create your own music with your PC this is the card you need. Forget Creative!!
