Austin Powers - International Man Of Mystery (DVD 2004)

I Had this dvd on vhs and wanted to upgrade to dvd to go with my collection, but i think its an excellent film.

This is one of three films made by MIke Myers about Austin Powers the International Man of Mystery. It is still one of the funniest Bond type spoofs around and a must have for any DVD collection

Great Film, Very Very Funny, very tongue in cheek comedy, great 60's music, all round top film.

Bought the film to play on a projector screen at a birthday party themed on the 60's.

Great Ideas for costumes and music.

Not for younger children, possibly OK for 13 years +.

AUSTIN POWERS: INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY is the first in the comic series starring this bodacious 1960s spy played by the hilarious Mike Myers. Decked out in the gaudiest mod attire--ruffled shirts, tight-fitting candy-colored suits, horn-rimmed glasses, and prosthetic teeth--Austin Powers is anything but subtle. His near-constant exclamations of "Groovy, Baby," accompanied an uncandid flash of his flirtatious smile, only add to his wonderfully exaggerated hipster persona. Plotwise, Austin Powers and his enemy Dr. Evil (also played by Myers) awake from 30 years of frozen, cryogenic sleep to find themselves in the year 1997. A conniving Dr. Evil plots a reign of terror and mass destruction, but finds that his ideas and methods are a bit out of date. Our hero encounters a similar dilemma, realizing that he is definitely behind the times. A series of well-meaning though bumbling efforts to thwart the insidious Dr. Evil keep Austin Powers and his devastatingly beautiful partner Vanessa Kensington (Elizabeth Hurley) hard at work as they travel from London to Las Vegas. With this tongue-in-cheek send-up of James Bond spy films and 1960s cliches, director Jay Roach compliments Myers' over-the-top performance with a lighthearted soundtrack, fun photography, and amusingly retro sets.

I LIKED AUSTIN POWERS FROM WHEN IT ORIGINALLY EMERGED 10 YEARS AGO.
ITS SO WHACKY & ZANY & THE HUMOUR IS HILARIOUS.
THE REASON I BOUGHT IT ON DVD IS BECAUSE I HAD IT ON VIDEO & HAVE NO VIDEO PLAYER ANY MORE SO STILL WANTING TO BE ABLE TO WATCH WHAT I CONSIDER A REALLY FUNNY FILM THAT ALWAYS CHEERS ME UP & PROBABLY ALWAYS WILL.

A great classic comedy. I've enjoyed watching this movie ever since it came out about 10 years ago. Definitely not to miss.

This is a great DVD. Mike Myers cleverly plays 3 characters in this movie and is hilarious as all 3! Lots of inuendo both corny(but funny) and original. Lots of strategically placed props to conceal nakedness used to great comic effect. A great spoof of all the great 60s "Man from U.N.C.L.E" type movies. Great costumes and scenes,cars. The only thing I felt was a shame was Liz Hurleys acting(quite wooden, especially considering she's been acting since a teen)
In all a "Groovey Movie Baby"

Love this film. Mike Myers plays most of the carachters. No really, good film, lots of good laughs and retro moments.
