I decided to buy this DVD after a lifelong interest in the Holocaust and the psychology of the Nazi regime. I visited Poland with my son in August 2006 to see Auschwitz. It was a profoundly disturbing and emotive experience which prompted me to purchase this DVD.
Although I have read countless books on the modus operandi of the Nazi party, especially circumstances surrounding Hitler's final solution, this DVD gave me a further insight and a vague understanding of the bizarre ideals which constituted thier actions of exterminating the Jews. I have Jewish friends,and look at them and try to see beyond their rights as human beings in some way to try and comprehend, but try as I may, I cannot come to terms with the sheer horror perpetrated by such a force as the SS at the command of Hitler. A mad man, but we all know that. All forces of evil are mad.
The DVD is a must for anyone remotely interested in this sort of thing. It is informative, well researched and the graphics are awesome.
Go to Poland, pay your respects: this must not happen again.

i bought this dvd after reading the paperback version.i wanted to learn more about the murder of the jews and others.i found this documentary very imformative not only a short film about murder but why? and how? and when.i feel that on the whole we know little and tell our children little of the awful treatment and mass murder of the jews and others in the second world war.these lessons should never be forgotten and should be passed on to our children.a well put together documentary that goes deeper than most.

This DVD provides an excellent telling of the harrowing plight of the victims of the Nazis. It creates, with the use of computer technology, the buildings at Auschwitz that are no longer there. With real footage, photographs and true accounts, it tells the story from the beginning until the liberation of Auschwitz.

Excellently presented DVD from the BBC series.This series of short documentaries doesn't make for pleasant viewing, but it does however make for almost compulsive viewing.
We bought this DVD after visiting Auschwitz Concentration camp, after our visit we were hungry for more information about the terrible events that happened there.
It is an excellently produced DVD with lots of interviews from both surviving prisoners and also from the perpetrators themselves. No one can ever understand the inhumanity that took place there, but hopefully we can learn from such evidence to try and prevent such things happening again.
Well worth buying and watching.

This makes morbid but fascinating viewing into the Auschwitz Concentration Camp.
It follows the Nazi's in the pursuit of the 'Final Solution' from the minor experiments into the murdering of what they saw as 'second class citizens' through to the building and running of what was Auschwitz.
Although harrowing to watch at times, it should be viewed by everyone if only to remind us of the horrors and lows that human beings are capable of sinking to.

BBC Does it againOne of the best documentries I have seen, they interviewed guard and prisoners, combine that with computer animation and actors. They bring the history of the camp alive from it's humble begginings to it's infamy.

I am interested in war related items, The B.B.C have put together a dvd that shows with some effect, some of the truly barbaric ways the nazi german army, got rid of people who are jewish, with the help of c.g.i and prints of old photographs, they have tried to show how concentration camps were put together. They interview some of the survivors, who tell some harrowing tales of sadistic torture, and how they managed to survive. Truly a very sad fact, that makes up part of our world history, that cannot be forgotten, it all stemmed from the devil and his desciples( Hitler ). Dvd well worth watching.

I have just finished watching the dvd having seen it before on BBC television. I was particularly keen to see it again after an e-bayer with a silly nickname let me down with the non-delivery of the item. Having received it from a proper top e-bayer recently, it brought the whole horror of the last war home to me. The BBC just don't make documentaries like this anymore, probably because of the lefties who run the organisation, and pressure from leftie groups who would rather forget the whole thing. The dvd is simply top class and ideal for anyone who wants to know the truth. Available now at a reasonable price. Compelling viewing.

Auschwitz-The Nazis and The Final Solution (2005 DVD)I have had an interest in history and on this particular topic, I have read many books and have seen various documentaries and film portrayals.The DVD and the special effects actually 'put you there' and you can then not only grasp but understand, not only refering to the numbers lost in the Holocaust, but the huge scale of the conditions that the jewish people had no other choice, but to endure. The understanding that the Nazi's actually believed what they were doing was correct,it is a shocking testimonial to the way and how it was done.A DVD set that is unequal to all others in it's depth and description, apart from actually being a victim or survivor.The BBC has done justice to the jewish people all over the world with this documentary on two DVD discs.

Auschwitz The Nazis and the Final Solution.Isaw some of the program on sky so i bought the book so i thought i would buy the dvd and it was excellant the reason i bought it was because i went to Poland last year with my partner and while we were there we visited Auschwitz i knew what happened by learning history at school and watching programes about it but i wanted to see it for my self and after seeing it i bought the dvd.
