Attenborough (DVD)

This is such a great collection...for small children to grown ups alike: this is currently thoroughly being enjoyed by my 7-month-old baby, my 4-year-old and my husband. As good as reading a book, you still need to interact and explain things to your child...but this is so much better than television! The money spent is well worth it!

David Attenborough's work in these various series has a single thread that makes them my favorites in the animal documentary genre: life in motion. So often documentaries are content to show a nature scene with a bit of music and call it entertainment. But the Life Series is full of active, humorously commentated life in the wild. The animals are shown in various activities that are cleverly and informingly narrated by Attenborough, who sometimes ventures surprisingly close to the action!
I bought the series after having seen 'Life of Mammals' on television, and I was glad to see that the quality remains high in Attenborough's other works. I highly recommend the collection for animal lovers and Attenborough fans alike.

I highly recommend this collection. Pictures are amazing and comments very instructive.

Moreover, for French speaking people (like me), if you use the English subtitles, it's a good way to improve/learn English vocabulary as the comments are clearly pronounced.

A very expensive set of DVD's, but if you are fan of either David Attenborough or BBC's nature programs this set of 24 DVD's is well worth it.

Life on Earth was a master piece back in the late 70's and is is still 'watchable' today, the others just build on this.
