The iPhone is a great piece of technology with one of the easiest and practical User Interface's I have seen and used, the only other to be be close is the Mac OS X operating system, with the window scrolling and touch screen I think the iPhone is even better and easier to use.
I'm sure people will like it even more once some new app's start to appear and they get the hang of using the little hidden features in the GUI.
If your into technology this is one device you'll appreciate and get a lot of use out of.
This phone truly sets out the future generation, for mobile devices!
I mean just look at it isn't it beautiful!

It would have been good if they had a 16GB like the iPod touch but what more can you ask for in this package ?

Well... should you?
Basically, the iPhone is great. Be warned though that the internet can be slower than you might have been led to believe. If you have Wi-Fi you will have no probs really but the vast majority of people won't have that access at work, on the train, in the city etc... so it will either go to EDGE which is slower, or GPRS slower still. Also; if the phone is roaming for Wi-Fi all the time the battery will drain well within a day - you can turn off the Wi-Fi search easily though. Some functions like You Tube will only operate in Wi-Fi or EDGE (although it's not worth watching on EDGE as it's too slow to stream)
As for e-mail - It uses a pull system where by the max frequency is every 15 mins. I think that this is more than adequate personally. Anyone who tells you that the keyboard is hard to use either only tried it once, has no dexterity or very fat fingers! After a few texts and e-mails it becomes as natural as breathing. Thumbs up for that!
Generally speaking the functionality is fantastic - the iPod, the pics, the calender, maps etc all good. The camera isn't great but for basic pics of nights out / pets and so on it's more than adequate.
The build quality is good too - although I live in constant fear of scratching the screen (screen protectors are available). It is not a robust phone and the fact that you can't swap the sim to a less valuable phone to do 'outdoory' things is annoying.
It has a good signal strength in low signal areas and, when not constantly looking for Wi-Fi, has a reasonable stand-by battery time. It is also really easy to get started and link to a PC - if I can manage it anyone can!
Overall - the phone is awesome. Is it worth £260 + £35 / month for 18 months? Well possibly not. I can see the price dropping considerably within 6 months as the competition from other mobile manufacturers builds up.
A warning - ONLY BUY THESE FROM O2, APPLE OR CARPHONE WHEREHOUSE! If you get them from anywhere else you are throwing you money away 'cos it won't work in the UK.
My advice to anyone who doesn't have money to throw away is just hang fire and wait for three to six months to see what the price does. If you are a gadget freak then just get it because it will entertain you for weeks.
I hope this has helped you make your mind up - I am glad I got it but feel guilty for what is a considerable splash of cash!

Well the difference between this one and the one you need to cut is nothing, cause both wont fit into the iphone, the chip in top will touch the plastic inside, so you might need to clean a little the excess of plastic from the sims border and the job is done.
Instructions:
1.activate the iphone with anothers person o2 contract sim card
2.remove the sim card and install your sim with the adapter
3.enjoy how the iphone takes the signal
So far no problems and the product plug, clean and play.

Took a bit of getting used to after using a Nokia 6300 for a couple of years, but after just two or three weeks of using it, I think it's fabulous. The QWERTY keyboard is really good, graphics are excellent and it connects via bluetooth to my TomTom - it's simply a beautiful piece of kit.

decided to buy the phone to see what all the fuss was about ( big mistake )
Bluetooth dont seem to work with anything, cant hold the phone in one hand and use it, far to fragile, cant remove the battery, what happens when the batterie dies a death ? which it will as it doesn`t last anytime at all.
I bought an unlocked one that simply would not work on my orange account.
Overall a complete waste of time, energy and money
PS. the phone also felt like I had a brick in my hand, way to big compared to todays modern phones.....

iphone is now one of the most wanted phone;apple is the guaranty of quality,of course you will pay extra because of this;very durable phone,very compact
i like iphone bacuse its big screen,easy connection to internet,the fact that you can simply restore your default software from itunes,easy to rbows between the songs,pictures,the way how you browse inside the phone,the way you see your SMS,the acelerometer,and application based on it,etc
i don't like because of these:
non replaceable battery,poor battery life,not enough to hold a charge at least 3 days,unuseful bluetooth -you cannot communicate with other devices via bluetooth, whose purpose is only for headset;probably the manufacter, Apple, thought that email is enought,for sending files, is it?on the other hand,possibilities with bluetooth are huge,for example if the iphone would have had it,you could have used it with a GPS receiver via bluetooth,and no need to buy the 3G iphone;but the point is,that YOU HAVE TO BUY IT,IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY
,poor quality sound on external speaker, not to strong,to many missed calls;NOT 3D SOUND,ONLY 1 SPEAKER,poor camera, withouth focusing,withouth image stabilizer,withouth recording, or night mode,or blitz,no video calling,lack of operating system in windows mobile cannot be an advantage,no radio,still locked on AT&T, no matter how you buy it from USA,no MMS, no SMS forwarding,no turning off the predictive words,no memory card,poor internal memory,jusy 8 gb,no DivX,Xvid,suport, no copy and paste,etc

I have purchased iphone on 15 july 2008 and paid money through paypal same day but seller was cheater and he still not dispatched my iphone. I have had very bad experience to buy through ebay. I have reported to ebay and paypal but still no action taken. I have reported to local police.

Not as good as they say.Well its ok but I didnt like it.
Like a normal phone you can answer the phone easily well here it takes ages answering a call as you HAVE to take it out of your pocket.
It freezes quite a bit.
very good headphone sound quality.
loudspeaker is crap.
without the contract or internet on the phone its like you have a nokia banana and an 8gb ipod in your pocket.
Overall its just not worth your money, so i sold it a long time ago.

this is at the moment the best phone for internet/ipod/phone/on the market the touch screen is very easy to use and very clear and the features are easy to access from the home screen its a shame the phone is locked to the 02 network but ifound it easy to get it unlocked to use with any network

i can everything buy it from here whatever we just search and get it. as well as reasonable prices.i like it very much but only problem is paypal they are so strict one day i had bought 8gb iphone.but couldn't pay because my limit was £.174. but the paypal ppl didn't confirm me before.thats way i had lost my phone.till now i couldn't solve my problam.

I can't help it, I love this little gadget. I'm far from a techno freak and usually won't spend more than 30 mins or so trying to grasp the opportunities of my toys, but this little devil changed all that. It was the answer to a lot of logistic problems I had and a lot I didn't know I had. With the ability to download applications it can actually meet every demand I can think of.
God i hate sounding like a fanatic. So here goes with the negatives: it's not a super phone. If all you want to do is call people up you should buy something quicker, cheaper and less fragile. Also, it requires a bit of interest and time to get to know and learn, so if you hate fidgeting with gadgets, give it a miss. But if you're looking for a fun way to listen to music, download and watch videos, carry your files around, plan your day, week, month or year, and if you're prepared to take your time learning how to do it- buy this little beauty!

Product has far more functions than all other phones I have seen. All applications that can be used next to the standard one are outstanding. Product has comfortable use like most other Apple products.
Exchange, Wifi, calling and ipod functions are excellent. No need for 3G phone yet.

Best Phone in the world!!
Has so many good applications on it. And screen is so clear. The touch screen is better than any other I have used.
Shame it doesnt work automatically with all phone networks.
Would recommend to any 02 user

Great phone. Replaced Nokia N95 which had a very sluggish UI. Used as an ipod and internet tablet, also push email calendars and contacts with mobile me. Overall great purchase, the only downside with that big screen is the short battery life.

Ideal for countries without 3GNow that the 3G version came out, this looks out of fashion. It is still a very good phone which can be cracked and ideal for countries without 3G.
