A pretty heavy miniseries, with moments of real beauty.

A 2 part TV series, six 1hour chapters, on two discs... Disc one blew me away, there's some heavy acting in it, some great effects, and a pretty dark storyline - it's a people series.. well movie.. you find your way into the lives of about 9 characters, that all slowly start interacting with each others lives, some in ways you kinda expected... some in ways you'd never expect. Worth watching for Emma Thompson's angel alone - a truly knockout performance. And the main dude, hang on while i look his name up... Justin Kirk - as Prior Walter is freakin' supreme... so anway, yeh, disc one knocked me for six... it really caught me, dragged me in, and had me gaspin for more... the second disc... things got heavier, darker, and much more downbeat... but by the end of the last chapter it seemed worthwhile - a miniseries /movie with quite a hefty message. Worth sticking with!
(i even enjoyed Streep in this - which, to be honest, is almost unheard of)
