4 seasons and counting.

American Dad seems to have divided a lot of opinion. I received the first season as a gift from a friend, and was originally sceptical about the layout- a family, with some odd pets, in Anywhere USA. Sounds like Family Guy...
But it's not. I religiously devoured the first, second and third seasons and then promptly ran out of money before I could get the 4th season. Now money has returned, I have been put out of my misery and have watched the entire of season 4 in one go.
It's as original, unique and hilarious as all the other seasons. It relies on slightly skewed time shrinking (suddenly, a new shot is a few weeks later, sometimes months), but it works well for the programme, as anyone who will remember 'Tears Of A Clooney' will know. The consistency of each episode is what makes it so fantastic. The usual circular narratives remain (Steve never quite 'getting boob', Stan and Francine remaining true to each other despite Stan's paranoia), but they are comprehensively rethought and played upon.
I have high hopes for season 5. With a little luck, it'll be another gem. Dismiss this programme at your peril!
