There are several different DVD boxed sets on the American Civil War. If like me, your're a real buff they all have something to offer. However, if you only intend to buy one series then go for the Ken Burns set instead - it is much better than this version. That doesn't mean to say that this set of DVds is not worth having. It is particularly strong on the causes of the Civil War and covers the individual battles in great detail.
