Almost Famous (DVD 2001)

i decided to watch this movie because i was bored at that time. it's a good movie, i enjoyed watching it, and that's it. not really my type of movies.

I bought this film with little knowledge on the story line, the actors/actresses and accredited reviews. You may be wondering why I bought it, well, because I am a student living in an apartment on my own I decided to buy a random cheap dvd to watch and I was shocked by the way in which the director managed to capture the 70s completely, after watching it I wanted to go back into the 70s and live the free, rock'n'roll lifestyle. The film was also inspiration in the sense that it made you realise how important it is to enjoy and love every second of life and not accept life being 'ok'.

Yeah, good film. well-drawn characters interacting off each other and getting into genuinely entertaining situations.
Like I said already, good film.

One of my favourite films of all time.
Loosley based on writer director Cameron Crowe's time on the road whilst reporting for 'Rolling Stone' magazine.
This film follows a young reporter on the road with fictional band 'Still Water'
Brilliantly shot and packed with great acting talent including - Billy Cudrup, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Jason Lee and Kate Hudson.
It captures the drug & alcohol fuelled chaos excellently but does so using black humour.
The sound track is also excellent.
I highly recommend this movie.
Also - Look out for the infamous bus scene which in my opinion is one of the best, Feel good scenes in the history of movies.

Fans of Cameron Crowe will no doubt love and adore this film, a tale of self discovery when a 15 year old aspiring journalist finds himself on tour with a 70's rock band, set to be on the cover of Rolling Stone if he can do his job, and falling hopelessly in love with a free-spirited Kate Hudson as the enticing Penny Lane. The humorous, yet educational approach Crowe adopts to many of his characters, such as in Elizabethtown can rightly be seen here, as another classic under his belt.

i love this movie, i had it on Video and really wanted to get a copy on DVD! the sale i got was an amazing price and instant delivery!
