Album Notes The scuzzy New York rock 'n' roll band's third studio album, following on from 2002's 'Electric Sweat'. On this album the band have enlisted the help of the Matrix songwriters (Avril Lavigne, Britney Spears, Pink) to try and break into the mainstream which shows their previously soulful dirty rock transformed into a more palatable sound. Evoking late era MC5 but with a stripped down approach, this album has been compared by critics to the sound of peers Jet and The Strokes, a progression from their Stones and Kinks influenced early works. | |||||||||||
Reviews  Mooney Suzuki This is a really good album. I had to buy it because I went to see them at the Leadmill, but got a bit tipsy (understatement) and couldn't really remember what they were like, except that while they were on stage my drunken brain recognized that I thought they were fantastic. Bit of a blur but I remember they did a bit of crowd cruising and one of them scaled a 10ft high speaker at one point for a guitar solo. Luckily for me, the album lived up to expectations and I didn't just imagine them to be good in my susceptible state. Highly recommended.
