Having survived the tragic death of frontman Layne Staley, the Seattle grunge pioneers present their first album in fourteen years. Now fronted by William DuVall, formerly of Atlantan rockers Comes With The Fall, the new album looks set to be a mixed bag. While web single 'A Looking In View' retains the downtuned grind of classic Alice, albeit shorn of the sense of danger Staley brought to the band, songs such as 'Check My Brain' hint at a commercial overhaul reminiscent of that undergone by Hole on 'Celebrity Skin'.
