The Adventures Of Tintin (DVD 2004)

Well what can I say? What a fantastic box set for any Tintin follower! This is the definitive collection. Not the ridiculous series that appeared many years ago on TV and VHS but a quality production with good menus, sound and overall quality.

There is approx 14 hours of Tintin! 21 Stories all faithfully reconstructed and follwing the original published books.

My only complaint is the opening titles for each film is a little long and you do get a bit fed up of that after 14 hours!!!

On the whole 10/10!

Its great to see that you can buy a great set of films over fourteen hours long for under a score and as a bonous its a timless clasic that apeals to all ffrom meny angles.

Good collection of Tintin mini-films, Never thought my kids would like them, but they haven't stopped watching it.
In a nutshell - Little dude solves mysteries along with his dog ‘Snowy’. Tintin has various friends, most of who need to be put on a register somewhere. Captain Haddock is my personal favourite. He’s an annoying simpleton and reminds me of my next door neighbour.
Various mild politically incorrect references. The villains are always of a ‘type’.
Must actually watch it sometime, but then again, life’s too short.
Second set I’ve bought, kids ruined the last set.
If you’re buying this for your kids they’ll love it, if you’re buying it for yourself, seek help.

Unlike some of these box sets, this item has multiple languages ideal for foreign language practice. The French is also more atmospheric than the English which appears to have been 'modernised' from the classic soundtrack those old enough will remember.

Good quality digitisation, and sound, with easy to use menus.

Well worth owning.

One wonders how they do it, keeping Tintin as fresh and as interesting as they did way back in the sixties'. There's adventure, friendship, loyalty, greed and compassion in these episodes - sometimes all of them in just one episode! Okay, I bought this as a gift for a friend of mine as his 50th birthday is looming large - and a well-thought-of gift it's going to be too.

I've even thinking of buying a set for myself. How about that?

Now, with all the clever CGI, they could take TinTin into the 21st Century, but this version remains as close to the original trailer episodes we all recall than anything we've seen during the intervening years. The voices are all as we'd expect them and the style of artwork just as Herge intended.

Here's a homage. Actually, better than a homage - this one lives!

What can I say?
If you are Tintin fan as I am, you will love this box set.
It’s fantastic value at around £20 considering how much you have to pay now days for a part of a single TV series which may only have 3-4 episodes per disk.
This set comprises of 10 DVD’s with at least 2 films on each disk, a pamphlet which guides you through the complete Tintin history and it all comes packaged in a stylish hard cover which fits the DVD’s snugly.
If you are familiar with the Tintin books, then you know what to expect. These are the best animated Tintin films ever made and have been shown on television in the past as a part of a series.
I love Tintin, I read all the books when I was a child and remember being taken off to another time. The stories really stimulate a young person’s mind and are a great foundation for all the ‘Agatha Christie’ type investigative novels that your child will read and/or watch when they grow up.
I bought this box set to watch with my son and I am not surprised to find that I was taken once more to another time where chivalry and good manners were all the rage and respect for one’s elders was the norm not the exception!
Go ahead, buy this, you won’t regret it!

I THINK I HAVE GONE BACK TO MY CHILDHOOD--I HAVE ALWAYS HAD A FASCINATION FOR CARTOONS LIKE TIN TIN AND I JUST HAD TO BUY IT--TO GET THE COMPLETE SET ON DVD IS THE ICING ON THE CAKE AS I HAD A COUPLE OF TIN TIN EPISODES ON VIDEO BUT NEVER THE WHOLE SERIES---I AM IN THE PROCESS OF CHANGING MY VIDEO COLLECTION TO DVD AND RECENTLY BOUGHT FIREBALL XL5,THUNDERBIRDS,JOE 90,SUPERCAR,STINGRAY AND THE BRILLIANT CAPTAIN SCARLET ALL COMPLETE SETS--I CAN T WAIT TO WATCH THEM.

this was my second purchase of this box set of DVD's. Both bought as gifts for people that enjoy Tintin. This box set is excellent value, brilliant quality and guaranteed to please

I bought it for my son for christmas as he loves tintin, i spent ages looking for the item and when i saw it i just had to buy it, just to see his face on christmas day light up at the surprise he didn,t expect. I must admit i like tintin too.

i always liked watching the films as a child, and wanted to get the whole set, it was intresting to read about the author, i never realized when the books were written, the author started writing in the 1920's

Great original drawings. Shame it's been re-voiced. Still my son loves it. Nothing more to say but apparently my review can't be less than 100 characters. (That should do it)

Both he and his 2yr old brother loved it.

bought it for my mate he used to watch them on tv years ago he always wanted them on dvd so when i seen them for sale i told him and got them for him

well it was to bring back old times when the world , well let`s just say was less complicated , and i liked it the first time round and yes i still enjoy it now
