A MUST HAVE DVD!!
My 6 and 9 year old girls can't get enough of this film and to be honest I love it too!
If your Children have seen Spy Kids and enjoyed it then this DVD is for them. It is however directed by the maker of Spy Kids so you can expect a Great Adventure Story plus amazing Special Effect.
A Film where Dreams really do come True for these Children and the Game is the Key!
A well deserved 5 Star, One To Watch Film. 101% Recommended for young and old alike.

A great film for the kids. Mine loved it and their ages run from 4 to 15 (two boys and two girls). I was a little worried about not having 3D glasses (which were supplied) but the DVD has a menu which catered for normal veiwing.

Yet another seller with wrong item location. Ebay seems to be full of them these days. Item location listed as Manchester (40 miles from me) yet when item still hadn't arrived over a week later - too late for daughters birthday- I was told that ALL their items are shipped from Guernsey. I informed Ebay but nothing happened, no response and the seller continues to carry on as before. It appears you can get away with things like that on eBay if you are a high volume seller.

This was quite a straightforward purchase, ie they was no fitting/size/colours etc to consider/risk, but nevertheless it very much served the purpose. I don't believe in paying full price for something you can buy perfectly well second hand or reduced price. This was exactly what my son wanted and is a good way of passing on quality goods to other people to enjoy. It is also an easy thing to post and should not cost a lot in postage/packaging.

  Sharkboy & Lavagirl. Warning!

I took my children to see this movie at the cinema. We all liked the Spy Kids trilogy, and with this being from the same director, Robert Rodriguez, we were sure it would be a great movie. I have to say, it takes a lot for a movie to be so bad that I want to walk out of the cinema, but this did it for me. I sat there utterly bored for the full 90 minutes (I think it was 90 minutes, I was asleep for part of the time). Having to wear those silly 3D glasses made me feel stupid as well as bored. If I hadn't had the kids with me, I would have been out of the auditorium faster than you could say the title. Sharkboy and Lavagirl is a bit of a wet fish, with no warmth in the story whatsoever.

The story is about a boy who creates these two fantasy super-hero-type characters to escape from his dull life, where his story writing makes him the butt of his friends jokes. Sharkboy and Lavagirl eventually come to life and rescue him from his problem-filled world to take him on an 'adventure'. The movie just plods on and on. It's not exciting, it's not interesting. It seemed that Rodriguez had had a big hit with Spy Kids 3D, and wanted to use the same effects. He shouldn't have bothered. The money would have been better spent on Spy Kids 4.

You may think I disliked it just because I'm an adult, so this must be a film made for kids. When we left the cinema, I asked my children what they thought of it. Both said the same thing. They thought it was rubbish, but had sat politely through the whole movie because they thought the other one wanted to watch it all. We all felt extremely disappointed.

Every now and then, we see Sharkboy and Lavagirl in a shop on DVD. It's price seems to be going down and down. We ponder as to whether we should buy it, just to see if it is as bad as we thought. These thoughts don't last long. Once bitten, twice shy. Please, don't suffer as we did.

MY 4YR OLD SON ADORES THIS MOVIE,IT WAS COSTING A SMALL FORTUNE ON TELEPORT MOVIES AT £2 A GO HE WAS WATCHING IT UP TO 3 TIMES A DAY,AFTER LOOKING FOR IT ON EBAY FOR WHAT SEEMED LIKE AN ETERNITY I FINALLY FOUND IT BRAND NEW AND IN 3D WITH FREE 3D GLASSES IN THE SHAPE OF SHARK TEETH AND LAVA SPIKES.IT WAS A VERY REASONABLE PRICE AND ARRIVED IN A FEW DAYS,ITS A GREAT KIDS FILM AND WITH THE ADDED BONUS OF BEING ABLE TO WATCH IN 2D OR 3D,THE FILM CENTRES AROUND THE IMAGINATION OF ONE BOY (MAX) WHO HAS DREAMED UP THE CHARACTERS SHARKBOY & LAVAGIRL AND A WHOLE NEW WORLD IN WHICH THEY LIVE,MAX IS A DAYDREAMER WHOS PARENTS ARE CONSTANTLY ARGUING AND HARDLY KNOW HE'S THERE.THE FILM WILL KEEP THEM HOOKED TILL THE END WITH FUN , ADVENTURE & HEROES.THE ONLY THING THAT I DISLIKE ABOUT THIS FILM IS THAT ITS OVER TO SOON ( OR MAYBE IT JUST SEEMS LIKE IT AS I DONT WANT THE QUIET TO END )10/10 WORTH EVERY PENNY AND MORE.

The adventures of Chav boy and Lager girl (LCL)

Well, where do I start? Firstly my 5 year old daughter loves it and watched it to death when she first got it. On the strength of that we bought this copy off Ebay for a boy friend of hers 7th birthday present - and guess what! He loves it too!! From an adults point of veiw it's the sort of film that looks promising for the first 5 minutes and then slowly slips into something that only children can enjoy - not a family round the telly movie. If my daughter were to review this she'd give it 5/5 I'm sure. The 3D is OK but it is only in parts and it instructs you to put-on or take-off the glasses as the film progresses. The good thing is that it has the 2D version on the same disc if you don't feel like watching with the glasses.
