it was a very light hared filam , funny but also sad in bits a good ending and some one at work recomended it

Great film now adapted for the west end. Not to be taken too seriously, just watch it and have a laugh!

After seeing the stage show in the West End I purchased the dvd of the film. Anyone going to see the stage show would benefit from watching this dvd so that the story is explained more fully.

Great feel good movie about some drag queens on a bus through the desert. A laugh awaits every turn of the journey.

wanted to see the original after watching the stage show, good movie but not as good as the show. the movie was not as funny as the stage show but well worth watching.

Decided to buy it as my friend is working in London on the theatre version & he was saying i'd love it - he was right. Would now love to see it live but time is running out on it, i'll always have my dvd though.

I bought the film as I had seen it on a trip to Australia.
Our next trip to the land down under included a pilgrimage to Broken Hill where the "Boys" stayed in the hotel "Marios".
Fantastic film, fantastic country, lovely people,see it before you die!

I loved this film, I wouldn't say it had me in hysterics but certainly had a good chuckle at it.

It certainly shows some of the problems facing gay people who are trying to live a life in such a homophobic society.

I bought this film as I had seen it on television several years ago and it was one of my favourites. It is a happy uplifting story with good music and great acting performances especially from Terence Stamp and Guy Pearce in unusual roles for them as drag artists. The location in the Australian desert is also out of the ordinary. There is great humour but also some quite touching scenes. The outfits are spectacular too. There are also some interesting extras about the making of the film. I can thoroughly recommend this film.

Bought this as previously owned it on Video format, leant it to a friend never got it back. I've watched it loads of times, and never tire of it. It is a fabulous funny film, that will make you laugh, but that also has poignant moments that can find you with a tear in your eye. Not for the prudish amongst us or children, strictly for the relaxed, well-travelled, open minded viewer, who appreciates Danny Le Rue!! Its about a bunch of mainly trannies that buy a bus and travel through the Australian Outback bringing their particular brand of entertainment to the Fosters swigging, kangeroo shooting community!!

Just a classic film, love the film and the music. Terence Stamp and Guy Pearce are outstanding in roles you would not believe. Australian film making at its best.
A one off, funny and Poignant

the film was quite interesting and it was a classic movie which the main actors where really good in acting even its different on there forte. I love this movie cause it makes me remember that there always have a comedy but good cinematography on old movies

This is not a film for family viewing, there is a large amount of swearing in it. That said, it is hilariously funny, touching and even sad at times. If you are a Lord of the Rings fan, you will never look at Elrond in the same way again having seen Hugo Weaving in this, as a drag queen. The acting is excellent and the storyline interesting. A trio of drag queens cross the Aussie desert to do a show in an outback town. Their transport is an old coach/bus that breaks down on a regular basis and the trio pick up an aging outcast mechanic along the way. Only one of them knows the real reason for the trip...to meet his son and care for him while the mother ( owner of the outback resort they are to do their venue in )takes a holiday. The costumes are amazing, the Aussie landscapes breathtaking and the film as a whole, well worth watching.

Ilove everything about this film its funny, sad,musical and educational I saw the film years ago at the cinema and have wanted to own the dvd since then. saw it wanted it.

I bought this DVD because i remember watching it as a kid and had bean trying to find it no i have it on DVD and i must say it's as good as it was then you must watch this film its an Australian film about three drag preformers braving the vast rugged outback it won the 1994 Academy Award for costume Design. this is a spectacular film you must watch this film. well what more can i say but watch it, I would kindly request that you vote "YES" (it was helpful).
