Asus Striker Extreme

I decided to buy this board due to its overclocking abilities, and also since it is capable of supporting the future 45nm Intel processors. But, due to newer boards coming out that already support the 45nm processors (I believe the Striker Extreme requires a BIOS flash, yet to be created by Asus) this board may or may not get this new BIOS.
Apart from that, I had very little trouble setting up this board. The only problem I had, which was a very minor and easy one to rectify, was the RAM voltage setting is set at 1.8v by default. This caused random errors and crashes. Once the RAM voltage was set to its native 2.1v everything went swimmingly. I am also using 2x1GB OCZ Platinum XTC RAM, which is not in the Quality Vendor List, but works excellently. Its rated at 800MHz, and currently mine is running overclocked at 900MHz.
Im currently running an Intel E1200 1.6GHz Dual Core CPU (overclocked at 2.2GHz) with this board, its alo ran a Pentium D Dual Core 3.2GHz CPU, and an Intel Q6600 Quad Core 2.4GHz SLACR with no problems at all. (Im currently waiting on an order for my own Q6600!)
As for the general running, I would recommend having a case with good airflow, at least one decent 120mm fan, as with gaming the copper piping can runquite warm, especially on the northbridge area.
Im using one Nvidia 7950GX2 along with my setup, and I must say it runs very quietly! The onboard power/reset/Clear CMOS buttons are an excellent touch, and the lights are a good idea, but more of a gimmick than actually useful. The only minor gripe I can see is the ATX power and the one IDE socket. I would have preferred this to have been seperated away from eachother, but since all my devices are SATA, it doesnt really bother me.
Overall I am very pleased with the board! The packaging and bundle are excellent, and the board itself runs like a dream! So far I have been able to push CPUs quite far with still a good amount of headroom left!
If you are going to buy one of these boards, I would certainly do some homework on components, make sure theyre compatible, and upgrade to the latest BIOS version, as Ive found on forums etc when I was checking out this board it is not without its problems, as with many other boards.
