ASUS Eee PC 4G (EEEPC4GW006) PC Notebook

this netbook is gr8, even though the screen is 7 inches, it's large enough for watching films, writing word documents, surfing the net. T he built in speakers are loud enough and the web cam picture is excellent quality. It is as fast as any pc. Well recommended

I think this little baby is fantastic.At last a small portable notebooks that does everything you wish.Very light and portable.Standard battery not very long,But about the same as a bigger,bulkier laptop.The best thing is the speed in which the internet connects.Its quick,very quick.Standard memory 516mb not sufficient to give rich graphics or video through say youtube,But with all the add-ons and extended memory available a solid,Quick bit of kit can be achieved.I bought mine as a present for my daughter.It came preloaded with Linux bios and software.I was never a fan of Linux,But i have changed my views.Its very easy to use for kids and very flexible.I'm now going to have to buy myself an Asus Eeepc as my daughter wants hers back.I give this item 9 out of 10.I hope this article has been of some use.Thank you.

The eee pc 701 is, while no longer the fastest or most feature packed netbook you can buy, a superb little machine.

Its small size makes it incredibly portable, however it still feels like a fully functioning laptop computer. This does not simply feel like a particularly feature packed phone or PDA, rather like a propper computer.

The small screen size is easy to get used to, and after a while you begin not to notice it at all. The only uncomfortable aspect I have noticed is the heat which can build up on the underside after prolonged use.

I would recomend the eeeBuntu OS for this device, as well as a RAM upgrade. I have taken both these steps, and the perfomrance increase is very noticeable.

Overal, an excellent and characterful little laptop, perfect for on the move computing.

My daughter loves the size, ease of use for a novice and general quality of the notebook. I bought it for the size and teh price was very good.

The Asus Eee PC comes preloaded with more than 40 applications for everything from work and email to listening to music and watching movies. Unlike the many free applications that come preinstalled on Windows-based computers, almost none of the applications on the Eee PC can be considered “bloatware.” In fact, almost every application on this notebook is both useful and easy to use.
Click on the “Web” icon and the Firefox web browser opens. Click on the “Documents,” “Spreadsheets,” or “Presentations” icons and the Open Office application (compatible with Microsoft Office) opens so you don’t have to purchase additional office software. Click on any standard movie file and the video plays in either the Media Player application or inside Firefox … you don’t need to spend hours searching for video plugins and codecs, the movies just play. Don’t waste time downloading iTunes. Just plug in your iPod and the Music Manager detects the music player and begins importing the songs.

So I have bought this baby, have blown £93 + pp on a brand new
baby. Have added to it a 16 Gb SD card at the grand total of £18 or so,
all purchased via eBay. Then a car charger via eBay, nominal price, I don't
care to rememeber. All dirt cheap to replace a laptop, years ago in the price
of £1,100:00. It works! I use it at home to speak daily to the people abroad
via Skype. Connected to stationary speakers with its excellent microphone it
allows me to sit back on a settee and have my partner speak to me as she were the next to me. But it does work on the road as well. Stopped in the service area on my way back to London from Manchester. Connected via its wi-fi and a complimentary Road Chef arrangement and did babble away with person living in Warsaw for an hour for free.
So what gripes? Yes, my thick fingers do not hit the keys clearly enough, a lot of mistakes have to be corrected. The screen is small so the glasses come as a must. The printer configuration is a pig. So what? If you want all of that hassle-free then get yourself a proper laptop. And blow 10 x as much to the joy and delectation of next Valencia thief. Otherwise it does all I ask it for, at the fraction of the price.
