  These boys rock!

Had to buy this CD having mis-placed the vinyl several years ago. Memories of a mis-spent youth flood back. Saw them at Wembley this summer with a broken shoulder and had to just dose up on pain killers and rock the night away. Happy days. This isn't just rock, it's poetry!

  DIRTY DEEDS...
Review created: 04/04/08

With rock music taking itself oh so seriously these days this is a refreshing blast from the past, an absolute ace of an album with a fantastic sense of humour, all the AC/DC trademarks are here - the tight backline courtesy of Phil Rudd's solid drumming, Mark Evans' thumping bass and Malcolm Young's driving rhythm guitar, Angus Young's 'blues on speed' lead guitar and of course the gravelly whisky drenched vocals of the late Bon Scott, highlights are the gloriously macabre 'Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap' the pub rock double entendre of 'Big Balls' the absolute filth of 'Love At First Feel' and 'Squealer', the bluesy 'Ride On' and the manic straight ahead foot to the floor rock and roll of 'The Rocker'. There are a couple of tracks that fall short, 'There's Gonna Be Some Rockin' seems to be a bit of a 'filler' as does 'Ain't No Fun Waiting Round To Be A Millionaire', the latter of which runs at nearly 7 minutes! 'Problem Child' does it's thing, typical AC/DC but not particularly brilliant. Perhaps their third best album (after the debut 'High Voltage' and the amazing 'Back In Black') it's well produced, dirty as a dog that's been rolling in mud, jam packed full of energy and, perhaps most importantly, thanks to those cheeky old Bon Scott lyrics, it makes you smile on a rush hour tube!

Fantastic album, thumping baseline, different riffs, gritty Austrialian lyrics and singing. Can't fault it
