Like all pink floyd albulms I think it was excellent to listen to. This is an albulm which is unfamiliar to those who just buy a one off of Pink FLoyd. It can be very miunderstanding and hard to accept the flavour of music as progressive rock. I could listen to it all day!!!!!!!!
this album is actually ok. its had a few bad reviews and i an see why. the album opens with a typical roger waters song, its ok. then we get a great rick wright soong, which is fantastic. then they outstanding set the controls for the heart of the sun. cant believe how quiet it is, but brill at full volume. and ofcourse, what album with roger waters wouldnt have a political track. and his first really called corporal clegg. its ok too, not as good as the first track. let there be more light. then we flip the album to side 2. and we open with the 12 minute instrumental title track, a saucerful of secrets. it really lets me down. the last like 4 minutes are fab, i'd recommend it, but the first 8 arent really very good. however we get a cracker from wright again, he really was at his peak with this album. and of course the only track by the legendary late syd barrett. jugband blues is quite brilliant when you really listen to it. its a good goodbye to him, but we really never wanted to say that. overall the album is good. its floyd so cant go too wrong, however if your into dark side and wish you were here floyd then this probably isnt the album for you. if you like piper at the gates of dawn floyd, this album is ok. piper of course mostly by barrett, and we get a single track from him. so in conclusion get it if your curious about psychodleic rock, get it if you like floyd, dont get it if you like like gilmour led floyd! cheers for reading.
