The Beatles - A Hard Day's Night (Original Soundtrack) (CD 1988)

Of all the Beatles' albums, from Please, please me to their ultimate Abbey Road, the three best and most memorable are the first three, Hard Day's Night being the third. The film was total crap, but the songs sold it. The Beatles started to get too serious and idealistic, hence they lost their way. Talking of Monty Python, John Cleese was quoted as saying "...the public will laugh at whatever we do, whether it's funny or not, simply because we're Monty Python". John Lennon had the same philosophy "...they will buy all our records, no matter whether they are good or rubbish, simply because we're The Beatles". So they stopped trying, and we were presented with trash like The White Album and Let it be. They should not have rested on their laurels with the great Sgt. Pepper album. Then, of course, there was "Yoko Oh- No!"

I LOVE IT, ITS THE BEATLES EVERTHING THEY'VE DONE IS GREAT, THIS ALBUM IS FULL OF GREAT TRACKS WHICH WERE USED ON THE BEATLES FIRST MOVIE A HARD DAYS NIGHT, IF YOU'VE NOT SEEN IT, ITS A MUST, JOHN LENNON ONCE SAID THE BEST BITS WERE LEFT ON THE CUTTING ROOM FLOOR BUT HE ALSO SAID THE BEATLES WERE JUST A BAND WHO MADE IT BIG, WHAT WE SEEN WAS LIFE CHANGING. BETTER LOOKING IN THAN OUT JOHN? LOVE YOU YA YA YA,. JOHN PS. IVE GOT IT ON RECORD JUST GETTING UP TO DATE WITH CD.

1964 and the Beatles were conquering the world of music. This album was the first and possibly the only one of their vast output to be completely written by Lennon and McCartney. Paul has provided 'Can't buy me Love' (now a standard) and 'Things we said today' a brilliant and under-rated track but at the time John Lennon was storming ahead and wrote most of the other tracks including 'Tell me Why', 'I'll be back', 'You can't do that' as well as the title track to this excellent film. Recommended to anyone who wants to hear this group greatly developing in terms of songwriting.

Generally there are two Beatles periods: tghe early period and the late one. If you like the early one ths might be the one for you. This album contains soundtracks from the film of the same title. e.g. A Hard Day's Night, I Should Have Known Better... The other songs that weren't in the film are also fabulous.

Tracks 1 to 7 are the famous ones, but if you give the rest a try you'll love it too. Lyrically not as great as the first seven tracks but the variation of melody saves them.It all depends on your style though. "I'll Cry Instead",roughly the song itself might not be that interesting, but actually if you know where it comes from you might change your mind. It could be said to be Lennon's first introspective song. According to his first wife, it was the period where Lennon (and presumably the other three) began to get fed up with Beatlemania.

What an album!! Possibly the best album, from definitely the best band ever to walk the earth. Enough said really.....

I was delighted at the way this seller does business. The CD itself was in good condition. The case was undamaged and had a really good clean insert.

Postage was spot on and arrived in a Jiffy style envelope very quickly.

For me this is the definitive Beatles album. A true music classic. My original copy is now virtually unplayable as it has been, well played many times.

I have four vinyl copies and a cd. Most of the vinyl has seen better days. Some people will watch the same film thousands of times, Idread to think how many times I have listned to this.

If I was asked to select a Beatles album that best sumed them up, this would be the one.

A classic monster.

Remember this is my opinion, not yours, before purchasing any music, you should at least attempt to listen to the album in question or other material by the artist.

I needed to buy the CD with assurance it was original. Seller had good rating and genuine. I was not dissapointed.

I Love every track always sound fabulous and can really lift your spirits if you feel a little down.
I was so lucky to grow up with the best era in music (the 60’s & early 70’s) but would love to own this in stereo on CD like the later vinyl release, how much longer can I wait?

I am replacing my vinyl collection and this was one of the records on my 'hit list'. I couldn't resist! Classic tracks and a seat on the time machine back to the sixties!
