Twilight (DVD)

I didnt like this film. If you are an emo, a goth, a vampire obsessive, a shareholder in foundation makeup, or a fan of chick flicks than you will probably love it. Me personally, I found it bland, boring, wooden and a tad predictable. Cullen looks like Bert from Sesame Street and, despite having one of the most impressive pairs of bushy eyebrows ever seen on celluloid, he brings absolutely nothing to the table apart from a constipated, 'I'm mildly in pain here' look. Every time a 'Vampire' starts running super fast then really the Benny Hill theme should be played in the background. Watch 'Blade' and 'Breakfast Club' back to back instead; 'Blade' for the vampires and 'Breakfast Club' for the teenage angst. I fully expect this negative review to get loads of 'unhelpfull' votes from pale faced fans of the film that will think that I missed the 'deep romantic undercurrents' of the movie. But I didnt. Theres just other films that do it a lot better. In my opinion this film is all hype and no substance and not really worth watching unless a free copy falls into your lap and you have an evening with nothing else to do. A film that is a jack of all trades and master of none.

Review: Twilight...

Twilight is an action-packed, modern-day love story between a teenage girl and a vampire. Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart) has always been a little bit different, never caring about fitting in with the trendy girls at her Phoenix high school. When her mother re-marries and sends Bella to live with her father in the rainy little town of Forks, Washington, she doesn't expect much of anything to change.

Then she meets the mysterious and dazzlingly beautiful Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson), a boy unlike any she's ever met. Edward is a vampire, but he doesn't have fangs and his family is unique in that they choose not to drink human blood. Intelligent and witty, Edward sees straight into Bella's soul. Soon, they are swept up in a passionate, thrilling and unorthodox romance.

To Edward, Bella is what he has waited 90 years for - a soul mate. But the closer they get, the more Edward must struggle to resist the primal pull of her scent, which could send him into an uncontrollable frenzy. But what will Edward & Bella do when a clan of new vampires - James (Cam Gigandet), Laurent (Edi Gathegi) and Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) - come to town and threaten to disrupt their way of life?

My Review: Amazing... but did not live up to books, The first time i saw this film it was in cinema and i was blown away, i was shaking with excitement the whole way through and afterwards. Then i read the books and i was addicted! After i turned the last page on the 4th book (breaking dawn) i decided to watch twilight again in cinema and i have got to say it didnt have anywhere near the effect it had on me the first time i saw it. I was slightly disappointed; there was many scenes that were cut out and i thought the quality of the filming was poor. Although the acting was superb. Definately worth a watch.

My daughter had been raving about this film, so rather than buy it at full price from the shops I got it on Ebay. The film was actually pretty good and suitable for my teenager....however I would have like more vampire & blood action - but I suppose it is wishful thninking as it is suppose to be a love story! Worth watching. Now my daughter is raving about Part two...New Moon....

i like most women am in love with edward cullen and have this film to watch over and over again is fab.

This is a a great movie, even if you are not a teenager!! I was very surprised how much I enjoyed and I am looking forward to buy the second DVD Twilight New Moon!

Film is good but slow compared to how I imagined it would be after reading the book which is excellent! couldnt put it down. Just shows sometimes your own imagination is better than the Directors lol! Looking forward to seeing the next one in the saga. Will be a classic that's for sure!

daughter bought it as saw bits at mates, she really enjoyed film & her sister has watched it about 9 times now, even I enjoyed it so much so we went to see New Moon at cinema & now can`t wait for dvd to be released for that.

This really is one of those movies that you have to push yourself to watch if you're a bloke & a must watch for the girlies, overall not too bad, just don't expect a laugh :-)

Best film I’ve seen for ages. Sizzling chemistry.. Swooning Romance.. Anybody who likes sci-fi this is a must for them. All the actors are excellent, there is so much going on that you don’t get bored half way through.
Edward Cullen & Bella Swan are the main characters. Edward who’s hiding a dark secreat he’s a vampire. As there worlds & hearts collide, Edward must battle the bloodlust rage inside him as well as to keeping her safe from others.

Don't spend your time comparing it to the book. If you just sit there comparing the book and the movie, you'll take the fun out of the movie itself. If you are a book reader, reading Midnight Sun really helps understand Edward's reactions and such. This is the best movie I've seen that has stayed the closest to the book as much as it could. I do understand why they made a few changes to please some of the moviegoers who haven't read the book. It ties things in a different but acceptable way. I loved how they interpreted the book. I understand that it was a teen movie so of course there was a little cheesiness at times. But hey, the book is geared towards a teen audiences regardless of the wide age range that actually reads it. I think Summit did a good job and should make New Moon.

I decided to buy this film on dvd as I had recently watched it on satellite tv, and after the first time, I watched it 4 times in the week it was shown! There have not been many films in my life that have made me want to watch them that often. It is the intensity of the feelings between Edward and Bella that come across so strongly - this is not just some typical flimsy teen flick - there is so much more too it. I felt drawn to the character Edward Cullen (played by Robert Pattinson), and Bella, the character played by Kristen Stewart, comes across as very mature for her years. And no, I am not a teenager, I am a lady in her mid-40's! Can't wait to see Twilight: New Moon - hopefully very soon.

I am a member of the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints (Mormon) , and so is Stephenie Meyer, the famous write of the Twilight Saga. I went through months of torture, listening to all of my friends talking about this amazing Twilight thing, and this Edward guy, and i was very "Anti-Twilight". Upon watching this film however, with my younger brother, i was converted. The film is amazing for such a low budget available, and i would recommend it to anyone! The books are equally as amazing!

Vampires, romance and a gorgeous leading actor...what more do you need? Set in rainy Forks the new girl, Bella, discovers there's more to the stunningly attractive Cullen clan that meets the pleasing eye! Legends, truths and immortal fights present themselves beautifully. Cult viewing!

I recently purchased this for my daughter however the whole family watched it and it turned out to be better than the usual teenage flick.

well what can i say if you love vampire films you will love this , blows buffy out of the water!and if you dont fall in love with the lead vampire within 5 mins there is something wrong with you!!!!

becomes addictive! a must be watched film. puts a romantic twist on vampires.
everyone i've known who thouroughly enjoyed this film have all developed OCD (obsessive cullen dependancy!) lol.

first film of 4 books. got to watch the other films when they come out (new moon is out on 20th nov) also, although i've not read the books yet, i believe they are much better than the film itself.

good viewing for male and female.

I read the book first couldnt put it down, dvd not as enthralling but very enjoyable. Looking forward to the sequal,hope its as good as the book

I decided to buy this movie after reading the saga. I didn't see it in the cinema and don't believe it lived up to the hype...

HOWEVER!!!

For those of you interested in experiencing the Twilight world without the harrowing task of reading all four books then the movie is perfect for you.
A condensed version of the book, the film is of average running time with an average performance from the young cast it hired.
Worth buying alone for the special features.

rented this film a couple of weeks ago and it was better than i expected it to be!. it was a bit slow going at first but i really got into it, must watch at least once!. kids would enjoy it.
